Well hopefully he will retire now. We will see though since he has said similar things in the past.
That was quick he already saying he might fight again December or January.
Following the fight, the 47-year-old spoke with his local paper and said he was likely going to retire from the sport.
"It may have been the last one," said Jones to the Pensacola Journal. "And I'm not mad if it is, because I had a great time. Everybody in Pensacola got to see Roy fight one more time. I knew it might be close to the end."
"We'll just have to see how long this takes (to heal). It was the best condition I've been in a long time. I felt strong the whole time. Thank God it was the right hand, because I could use the left hand triple time. Because you use it for your jab and that's the point-getter, If it's the left hand, now you've got problems. Because you have bring your shoulder from way back here and makes it harder for you to get back (and leaves a boxer exposed to a counter punch)."
But after a few weeks of thinking it over, Jones plans to continue his career. Jones tells TMZ Sports he feels great and is eyeing a return to the ring.
In fact, Roy felt good enough to catch some big fish in Pensacola, Florida this weekend (Roy says he caught a shark) … albeit while rockin’ a big arm brace.
So, when does 47-year-old RJJ anticipate a return to the squared circle?
"As early as December. Possibly January," Jones said. "I'm doing much better. My arm feels good
