You work for Akai?
I did back when the 5000 was comin out. Was the head tech.
Those mothafukkas "pay froze" me for 3 years though because of the "economy".
Then they had the nerve to brag about having the most profitable 4th quarter in company history at the end of the year. So Im like can I get my review now?
Nope economy's too rough, pay freeze not lifted. meanwhile the president comes in in a 750i the next week
Plus 2 of my homies that worked their died "OD and shotgun to the domeski"
Needless to say I left, Numark bought the legacy AKAI, so it's owned and run by Numark, and they are a very greedy fukk the consumer type of company.
Everything about that story was f*cked up and . sorry you had to go through that...so you never got paid?
I got paid, I just never got a single review or raise in 3 years time, meanwhile my responsibilities double or tripled.
I managed everyones schedules, I wrote all the guides, I beta tested products that weren't out yet on my own free time, I helped set things up for the commercials, I answered phones, I responded to emails, and helped artists set their shyt up.
Helped the DJ's with their phone queue ( doing tech support for idiot DJ's trying to use Virtual Vinyl is shoot yourself status )
Their was a dude who had been there 7 years, I found he was making 3$ less an hr than me doing the same job for years longer and had not seen ONE review.
Basically it was the dream job for a beat maker like me, but eventually I had to leave cause the company itself is terrible.
shyt was ill though, I've taught wyclef how to use an MPC3000 correctly, argued with wu tang producers, showed timbland how to sync his keyboards and multiple MPC4000s at once, got guitar pedals to AC DC, walked Eminem and Kanye assistant through certain procedures.
Lots of cool interactions, and it was like free school for all that gear Sorry for writing a book
EDIT: we made the drums for rockband too
i said that because the beat obviously sounds like a old wu tang beat rza would've made. but its a bit to smooth for rza's taste. Smoothness is a westcoast thing. we usually tidey up our beats(or use to). make everything all neat, round off the edges. rza was just the opposite, he would grimey it up. the dude was intentionally turning 16 bit or 24bit samples into 8 bit samples. think about how that would sound. muddying up the mix so to speak. he did it on purpose. thats why NO ONE sounds like him to this day. This type of Feedback is part of the reason i joined the beat league. Much appreciated.
Definitley wanted that abrupt ending but the comment about the HIT was golden breh. thanks again.
Also...
I have never lived or been to the west coast in my life...but any comparison to RZA is an honor. What made you say that by the way?
Also check out my beattape when you get a chance. http://www.the-coli.com/tunnel/94730-new-blackdroog-album-download.html#.UUkDJr81arI

your sound wasnt as muddy or as gritty as his because of those things i mentioned above. but since you did it the way you did. it didnt sound just like a rza wanna be beat. it had its on feel to it.
