:whew:

Another GREAT battle.

This is one of those that comes down to personal preference for me, as they're both great in their own lanes.

Ran's is on that real smooth tip. I could hear 90's era Nas and AZ RIPPIN this track. I think you could've added a ride cymbal, shaker, tambourine or something extra half way through just to give it some more movement, but :yeshrug:

Droog's had that Dilla/Early RZA vibe to it. Nasty. Dirty. Grimy. Loved it. Made me actually kinda sad that RZA doesn't do beats like this anymore. :salute:

Gave this one to Droog.

im kind of of picky about nice drum sounds, and i wasnt really feeling ran's
however the sample was real nice
and although blackdroog's was a little choppy in places i went with him

yall going hard in here on these 2. wow. Can i have 2 votes. no lie. i would vote for both.

Ran dakroyd-i really want this beat to work. almost... "still in love" that part needs to be fixed for timing purposes. unless you changed the entire song around shapped it around the melody/chords you play right when he says "still in love". i like the drums, but you alreayd know they are way to simple. something is missing. cant put my finger on it. you got something brewing over here though.

BlackDroog- come on Rza. dont play. give me that obscure sample of some old 70's 60's singer yelling in the background. grimey this up. lol. this sounds like what if Rza lived on the westcoast instead of the east. ha haaaa

easy on the transition from the first hook to the 2nd verse(1:52). if you wanted to end that abruptly. make that last HIT sound or click. echo. then go with your other loop

***i had to go with .....blackdroog aka the westcoast rza. but it was crazy close. i almost feel bad for not voting for my vandross sample.

This type of Feedback is part of the reason i joined the beat league. Much appreciated.

:salute:

Definitley wanted that abrupt ending but the comment about the HIT was golden breh. thanks again.

Also...

:whoa: I have never lived or been to the west coast in my life...but any comparison to RZA is an honor. :obama: What made you say that by the way?

Also check out my beattape when you get a chance. http://www.the-coli.com/tunnel/94730-new-blackdroog-album-download.html#.UUkDJr81arI

Do you have any Waves Plug Ins?

I'd look into the L2 limiter for the stereo bus. It can do a great job without being overbearing if the settings are right.

yeah the wave plug ins are great, mixing and mastering though takes skill the all in one thhinngs aare ok for just shopping/ doing beats but you have to give yourself head room,

your beat should be at like ...idk...-12 db before u slap one on, then play with the settings, also you can reference some of your favorite songs to try to get a sound like what you hear.

no technical info here, but Ran Dakroyd, you should let the sample play out a bit further, between the looping and the cut of the word "love" this sample feels off, especially cuz it's one everyone knows. i also would've liked to hear more of the beat without the vocal sample play at some point
