andre dont really touch me like thatl he is similar to em in that i just cannot deny his greatness in terms of songwriting, technique, consistency etc. but he dont touch me like Cube, Big, Nas, Jay even before he fell of, Pac. Its something cold about that dude.

That I just dont get. To me cold is like someone rapping that is detached from the shyt they rap about. Stacks is anything but detached :manny:

i dont mean cold in terms of subject matter, its like he has this monotone voice and and its hard for me to get close to. like for me, the voice has to be as appealing as the lyrics. kendrick is similar. his voice is his biggest weakness.

I dunno. I mean, obviously I am not the biggest Kendrick fan, and I dont like his voice, but I cant call it monotone. If you ask me, its what he does with his voice outside the raps that makes people like him. But I can understand not liking someone's voice but I think 3000's is fine. weak voice nikkaz are Lupe, Em, early Jay.
and TBH mayne (and I am not turning it into one of those threads) but the most monotone rapper you listed is nas. So I'm not understanding.

Different strokes for different folks. Not everyone feels everyone so thats fine. If a nikka said 3000 was too abstract I would understand.

Stacks was rapping to my soul on Aquemini man. And that Millenium verse, everybody has felt like that at some point in time. What I love about Dre is that he connects with the emotion experiences bring. Not the experiences themselves. A dude like Cole is on some "hey I went to college too, girls be tripping man". Dre gets into them deep emotions without relying on the same experiences

I feel like he approaches em from a different angle...

First I tell em how it is then I tell em how it could be :wow:

used to play that cd all the time. i definitely peeped the narrative back then.

i feel like most Kast albums seem way left when they come out and then when you listen back 3-4 years later that shyt sounds current as fukk. it's cliché to say of them but they were definitely ahead of their time...

b.o.b. still sounds ahead of its time.

breh funny thing is a polynesian teacher i had put me onto outkast n the dungeon in 6th grade, because i was goin thru his cd booklet and he had all their cds up to 2000's stankonia, and the naked women caught my eye, im thinkin the cds were new funkadelic, parliament cds

he burnt copies and told me to listen to em

then all the military cats i went school with from the south put me on to the other stuff, i soaked it in and took all i could

my southern rap collection started in georgia, ki ali, sammy sam, troy, field mob etc

then move to florida, half pint, poison clan etc,

tenn, ball n g, 3-6, skinny pimp, gangsta pat, tela

texas, s.u.c swishahouse, dsr, dmd, ugk etc

lousiana cash money, no limit, the wet boys, max minelli and the concentration camp bee-low

i got a southern crash course from 2000(6th grade)-2005(my sophmore yr)

i was raised on west coast music because all thats played in washington, i can tell u anything bout quik's background, snoops evolution,e-40 etc

didnt get on the east coast until 3-4yrs ago
