That I just dont get. To me cold is like someone rapping that is detached from the shyt they rap about. Stacks is anything but detached

i dont mean cold in terms of subject matter, its like he has this monotone voice and and its hard for me to get close to. like for me, the voice has to be as appealing as the lyrics. kendrick is similar. his voice is his biggest weakness.

I dunno. I mean, obviously I am not the biggest Kendrick fan, and I dont like his voice, but I cant call it monotone. If you ask me, its what he does with his voice outside the raps that makes people like him. But I can understand not liking someone's voice but I think 3000's is fine. weak voice nikkaz are Lupe, Em, early Jay.
and TBH mayne (and I am not turning it into one of those threads) but the most monotone rapper you listed is nas. So I'm not understanding.

Different strokes for different folks. Not everyone feels everyone so thats fine. If a nikka said 3000 was too abstract I would understand.

What I love about Dre is that he connects with the emotion experiences bring. Not the experiences themselves. A dude like Cole is on some "hey I went to college too, girls be tripping man". Dre gets into them deep emotions without relying on the same experiences

i feel like most Kast albums seem way left when they come out and then when you listen back 3-4 years later that shyt sounds current as fukk. it's cliché to say of them but they were definitely ahead of their time...
