I don't know why anyone thought Drake should spit on a song called RICO to begin with...'Yeah, it's a track for those who been through a case, or an indictment....I mean, not really a RICO, but I'll talk about probation and the DA's office..." 'What will Drake talk about"?

.........

:scust:

I'm normally completely silent in all of these threads, but i had to say something.

Drake doesn't produce a lick, can't play an instrument, and doesn't "create" anything.

I don't even know how 40 typed that with a straight face.

We might as well come up with a list of other things Drake is, since apparently he's all of these invisible things.

"Thankfully for me, Drake isn't just a rapper. He's also a musician, producer, inventor of the Segway, international breakdance champion, Head of Marketing for IBM, Habitat for Humanity Chairwoman, Budweiser Beer Taster, world renowned tattoo artist, the man who took the photo of Tom from MySpace, Elon Musk, and a creator."

Seriously I can understand protecting the brand but jeez 40. If anything YOU are the real creator his signature sound is YOU.

Of course not..but Drake is still a pop star however you try cut it. whoever put him at the top of those lists had a hidden agenda and it was the Jews.
Even before we knew he didn't write some of us were far from impressed.

DJ Premier isn't a corporate shill as far as I can tell. He wouldn't let Beiber rock the BET cypher when he was told that Luda would be writing the verse yet he's the one who said Drake brought lyrics back. Just because some nikkas on here ain't fall for the okey doke doesn't mean that he ain't run a successful campaign to build his credibility on his supposed lyrical prowess.

Even if I'm not a fan of a particular rapper I can be objective and even respect their appeal to whatever fanbase. I figured love him or hate him you were gonna have to respect his run but now that he's been exposed as some sort of assembly line product...

:hubie:

Now all of a sudden the argument switches from legitimizing him as a rapper to "bu bu but he's a pop star!" or some sort of transcendent talent who's exempt from being judged by the same standards as the people who he get's compared to and championed over...fukk that.

I don't know why these fools try to turn this into a long drawn out discussion. 40, Drake's producer, said if you get help with your bars you shouldn't be rapping. This is from 2012:

Noah '40' Shebib: Recording Drake's 'Headlines' | Sound On Sound

That's all that needs to be said. So these weirdos writing long ass dissertations on why it's technically OK need to get the fukk outta here. His own camp didn't even support ghost writing, until he got caught.

Fred.
Let me just quote this for emphasis.

He could have re-recorded them a million times but never sounded exactly like Drake did at the end, because he lacks the other abilities there's a reason that guys career hasn't taken off as a solo artist . just saying
I agree with most this post, but, this.

Drake is the guy your talking about. Except he's a coachable actor.

Drake definitely is a talented entertainer. But, dude is a corny MC/rapper.

I'll always give Drake he's props as a pop artist.

No. The day the reference tracks dropped 40 was on Twitter copping pleas, never once mentioned the quote from 2012.

The only interview Drake did around that time was Fader, after the editor in chief had already wrote a full article talking about :manny: "what's the big deal with using ghost writers?"

You've probably seen people use a smilie of her face when somebody says some culture vulture type shyt.

That's why I said, this isn't even worth a discussion. Drake and his camp actively lied to people for most of his career.

Fred.
:russ: Don't forget "riddum" excuse he used for "remixing" DRAM's track, then stealing it after it got hot...Cha Cha Remix to Hotline Bling :russ:

Hip hop purists out in full form today

Too bad none of you came out with the same support for Joe buddens album this week. That ain't none of my business tho

:hubie:

You'll never end drake cause you focus too much on hating instead of supporting.

Joe Budden Makes Statement With “Rage & The Machine”
Joe Budden unleashed his Rage & the Machine album to give us some real rap amid all of the music circulating. The project charts at #40 with 11,341 and was streamed 2 million times. Last year’s All Love Lost peaked at #29, but the New York vet has yet to surpass the success of his debut self-titled album, which landed at #8 in 2003.

No apple, no interscope, no def jam, just himself.
Still charting.

7mile to SE & Uptown!
They STILL say this:lolbron:
I was NEVER a big Drake fan but I honestly thought he was "helping" Wayne around that time because Wayne had falling into the non-coherent all lyrics style for awhile then on the Carter 4 he had quite a few structured songs with r&b backings. Was straight up Drake's alley I'm assuming that Drake's "camp" did have a hand on that album in the end. :manny:
