Aren't all three of them Hispanic? Unless this character is black and not Hispanic then I get the issue but if the character is Hispanic and they got a Hispanic woman to play her who's just not as dark as the woman who dropped out I don't see the issue
She's Afro-Latina and has always been drawn like a black woman.

Sunspot was Biracial and got bullied for being darker and then other Brazilians.

Oh ok. well like I said then, I get it, but i also don't think its too crazy. She's a good actress, she's latina. It's not like they cast a white woman

Only 4% of Brazilians even consider themselves latinos. They're the south americans that most feel awkward (and might correct you) if you consider them hispanic.
It's wild AF, but it's real. So I get the Alice Braga hate even though I think she's a pretty good actress.

That's primarily because they speak Portuguese and some German in parts of the country. Most "Latinos" are classified that way because of the influence of the Spanish language.

That's definitely the reason...and I think it's a pretty good reason. But if Brazilians see other South Americans as "others" even at some subconscious level (rather than on a conscious level) then it makes sense how actual Hispanics would be upset at being represented by them.

Also, the word "Latinos" is actually directly derived from the word "Latin". And given that latin is the mother of not only spanish but also: "portuguese, french, italian and romanian" it's a little bit weird that what we call Latinos are only the spanish speaking South Americans.

But hey, that's enough of me giving my opinion on South Americans. I'ma leave that to the Brazilian and Hispanic brethren of the board. :francis:

They did. Latina isn't a race. Casting a white/mestiza Latina to play a black Latina is the same thing as that.

It's like saying it's not too crazy to cast a white American as a black American because they're both American.

Actually not disagreeing, but I notice that people say Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Latino/a. Now makes no sense to differentiate, if for no other reason than Brazilians and other South Americans speak different languages. Gisele Bundchen is a German speaking (Portuguese as well) Brazilian. Would anyone classify her as a Latina? I honestly have never heard her say that. Brazilians seem to be their own thing.

Well thats why I asked breh. So then the question would be what specific race is the good Dr?

:gucci::gucci::gucci::gucci::gucci::gucci:

Kim Kardashian is Harriet Tubman compared to this famous for no reason talentless gibbon faced concubine
The question isn't who(singular) she had to sleep with to get the role, but who (plural)?? Hopefully she gets beat to a pulp worse than she did in Daredevil. I have no plans on watching this mockery, but if it happened to be that she gets beat down every episode like The Flash I'd consider it :ehh:
