Just came in here to say that if Phil gives up a first rounder for Rondo he should fired.
N igga, that'd be the GOAT move.
No wonder Knicks fans are confused.

Why?but that mavs/celtics trade should be vetoed if they try it.

The Mavs don't really have anything to offer the Cs.
Honesltly, the Cs would have a much easier time building around Rondo instead of trading him and taking lowball offers.
He'd be playing alongside Monta
Rondo
Monta
Parsons
Dirk
Chandler
That's solid breh
I read that Yahoo article this morning. I was likehttp://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--celtics-rajon-rondo-212808679.html
He's 28.
He's a free agent in July.
They're also shopping Jeff Green.
Who's giving up what for Rondo? :lupepopcorn:
Don't see why they don't go that route, they act like they will give up their top flight PG to get better instantly, when they could package up their other assets and start to build around Rondo. FAs would come there because they know Rondo would feed them the ball
If I were Ainge, I'd offer him $18M/year for 5 years (he's currently on $12M/year) and give him my word that we'll secure all-star level talent to surround him with.

Exactly Ainge is out here over thinkng this one, Smart is a project and already proving to be a bit injury prone.
Resign the nikka and build a squad for Rondo the same way he did for Pierce. Who gives a fukk if this dude is a diva, if you ain't getting back CP, Russ, Rose or another elite level player why trade the only thing keepin you relevant?
THIS should've been Ainge's M.O. from jump!
Rondo has also REPEATEDLY stated that he WANTS to stay in Boston. I don't get Ainge's reticence to go the Paul Pierce-route with Rondo. Ainge is not going to get even fair market value for Rondo and he certainly doesn't have 5 years to build a championship contender.
And, now that I think about it, $18M/year for Rondo would be a STEAL considering that many players will be free agents in the next two years and will be demanding even more money because of the NBA's TV deal.
