Put AI on the Celtics and they wouldn't have won a title. Rondo was the most ideal PG possible for that team.
:stopitslime:

Rondo averaged 9 points on 37% shooting and 59% FT-shooting in the Finals, he was a role player. You put AI on that team and they probably sweep the Lakers.

Basketball doesn't work as simply as that. You can't insert such a ball dominant player and expect them to mesh seamlessly with three superstars. AI would mean less shots for the other three, and would have been a mediocre defender. So yes, Rondo WAS a much better fit.

Absolutely. No other PG would have impoved the Celtics as a team, when they already had RA, PP and KG as the main three options. Rondo provided everything they needed from a PG
Exactly they had 3 main options, Rondo was just a role player. If you mean Rondo provided everything you needed, by passing it to the 3 main guys, there were plenty of guys in the league that could've done that.

Ah yes it is. It's as simple as that.

This is nonsense.

Yeah AI would mean less shots for the other three, but it would also mean that the Celtics would score more points on better efficiency and Iverson would DESTROY Fisher, to the point where it'd probably be a double-digit win in every game. Iverson would be guarding Fisher all game too, so defensive doesn't even come into the equation. Even if Rondo wasn't there, they still would've had the #1 defense. This revisionism is comedy.

Garnett
Pierce
Ray Allen
Posey
Perkins
Tony Allen

That's close to the best defensive group in the modern era. All AI would do is just roam and play the passing lanes all game long. A lineup of:

AI
Allen
Pierce
Garnett
Perkins

wouldn't even be fair for teams. They'd win 70+ during the regular season and probably end up only dropping a couple of games during the playoffs.
