Ron Paul was never able to capture the mainstream party members

Ron Paul people remind me more of the Bernie Bros to be honest... Not necessarily made up of groups who are deep philosophically but are attracted to outsiders with unorthodox ideas that are more on the extreme side

There's definitely some racist bernie supporters just like there are definitely racist neolibs. It's not either/or; we've got a LOT of work to do opening minds and curtailing it. Any strategy that's focused on stealing trump voters from close to center as opposed to recruiting new voters that actually fit with our policy and platform goals will probably increase that demo though.
