No hate to Reigns, but....

dude was hand-picked by WWE to come in thru their system. And although I'm sure he beat out many others, he never went thru the ranks of being in front of uncontrollable/hostile indy crowds, finding himself as a character & on the mic, having to struggle/wonder if he'd ever make it to WWE, etc. Finding out what the fans like/don't like on your own, instead of being told what they like.

Just all the things indy guys and old school territory wrestlers have went thru that build character as a performer. You can only grow so much under a controlled WWE-sponsored environment. All you have is what they taught you and when things don't go right, you dont have any other experience.

Not saying he'll NEVER develop into what the E hopes, I hope he does, but the best ppl that come outta NXT all seem to have previous indy/other fed experience.

I think its an unfair comparison a lot of NXT guys (like Reigns) just dont have the same experience. lets compare Seth Rollins and Roman Reings. They are about the same age but Rollins has 10+ years experience and Reigns has less than 5. Most indy guys have years to develop those skills while going unnoticed. While NXT has to INTODUCE and TRAIN guys that are former football/bodybuilders to a whole new sport and have everyone overly dissect them in their early years of development.

my point is that just bringing in former football players or athletes etc and sticking them in WWE training is not really the best method to build a new star

randy orton already proved the cons of what a 100% E product looks like. Till this day he still isnt polished nor complete and he is 2nd gen :heh:

Roman reigns might turn out to be a bautista type but i doubt it

But you can't use orton as an example mans headlined multiple Manias and is rich as fukk .
If you force feed "a star" in the main event scene long enough eventually the universe will buy in, what his financial situation is is of little relevance. The fact is after 12 years his ring work is sub par and his mic work is worse. To my knowledge he did no indy/territory work that wasnt on the Es dime.Hes basically the posterchild of what a E produced rassler is so if that is what roman is going to be judged on the future isnt to bright.
