How will "consumers" be able to "consume" in the Future, when he/she has no job, and therefore no resources to "consume"

you don't know the illuminati plan to depopulate the Earth

you didn't see those fags in the wall street party thread, you didn't realize the gay agenda in the media is part of the depopulation plan
you don't think babies drinking soy milk is part of that plan, all the poison in the food we hit, shyt is real

it's too many people on this world and not enough to do, just a harsh reality and these motherfukkers will see to it that the load is lightening

so either you get your bread up and watch your family vanish from the face of the Earth

That already is happening to the native white Europeans. They are forced to include non-white immigrants to sustain their population numbers.

:ufdup:yall think I'm trolling when I say the world will have to learn how to deal with lack of jobs. Transport is only thing. Manufacturing will be all automated and is getting easier and easier, food prep will be all automatic, law discovery, medicine, engineering, programming, dentistry. People will only be left with arts and soft skills at some point, then soft skills will be eventually to go and Art will be the final domain of man. The whole idea of widespread meritocracy will be in danger. There will likely be an elite that owns many of the industries through inheritance of land and ownership transfers, but most will likely be subject to some sort of widespread socialism.

I expect a lot of the industries involved with transporting goods
to slowly be eroded away as vehicles become "smart" or should I say
"smart(er)" ?

This type of technology is going to come to the trucking industry much sooner...next 20-30 years. Shipping won't see this until 2050 or later.

My particular industry is hindered by the limits of transportation regulation; having no drivers would eliminate a lot of overhead and costs...

Conversely, I'm not in favor of killing these jobs in the name of profit. But sadly, all of this is going to come to fruition. My job potentially could come into jeopardy as well.

Here's hoping that we all can just be artists, explorers, and adventurers in the future...because there isn't gonna be shyt else to do.

Is that bad?

so what's the big deal about a "job"? who needs a job if you got robots?

if you ask me, the better question is what to do with all this newfound free time? (the last discovery of free time practically reinvented the world) and what will replace work as a measure of self identity?

this is my industry and I doubt it will happen, shipping unions are real tight with shore worker, tug pilots, and all the other aspects of the maritime industry. I could see a massive strike if companies tried to do this too quickly. On top of that even with a manned ship way to much can/and does happen that a computer probably wouldn't be able to adjust too. I really doubt it could keep the ship going without any accidents ever.

Add to that the regulations that would have to be followed for something like unmanned ships (who do you blame for an accident if the ship has no master?) and the insurance for it would be expensive as fukk. Lastly Ship Owners being cheap is what they do, its an industry where you see low % returns so you cut cost. And I can see in no way them being willing to spend on something like this... I can tell you it wont happen this decade at least. shyt maybe not even in 2 decades.
