The walked away from the norm. Steen isnt supposed to be the guy you like, Davey is. Putting the belt on Steen with the way he's been running over everyone in ROH will get someone (most likely Adam Cole) over huge when he beats him. Honestly the big picture isnt Steen its the NEXT guy. Take a step back and look at the whole picture.

Maybe you're right here, but to me beating Davey should have gotten the next guy over because Davey is actually believable as a beast.

Steen is just a fat fukk who looks like the audience. That whole "monster" Steen shyt is bought by nobody outside of the nitsche fanbase of ROH. Aint no one paying to see Steen vs. mid-level ROH guy. I expect every match to be a death match as well

Honestly the gut doesnt bug me as much as the choice in wardrobe and the beard.

Beating Davey would have got someone ever but with the way Davey would sell, not at all, you HAD to beat him with some sort of fukkery. Davey was destined for a feud with O'Reilly as Team Ambition break up (where the fukk is Tony Kozina anyway?). I am hoping for the best with this Steen plan but it will allow us several good things for ROH.

1. This Sinclair PG shyt will be dramatically reduced.
2. Steve Corino heel mic time which is always good and funny wether intentional or not.
3. A new hero born out of all of this chaos Steen is brewing.

This being said id rather it would be someone else more convincing looking with the belt right now but i think Steen is doing a fine job.

Steen is a fukking joke. A fat shmuck who is a God to losers because he curses. He actually brings ROH down, the champ should be a future of the business kind of guy, not a geeks wet dream. But I been down on ROH for a while, so almost nothing would bring me back at this point, I really think Cornette done killed it.

If he wanted to be a real heel, he's just shut the fukk up. Seems like no matter what the shmucks eat up what he says, and his mic work always gets him over, so be a heel and don't give the fans what they want.

Steen is the most over guy in the company by a huge margin. It really doesn't matter what anyone thinks of him (or his personal appearance), he's the right guy to have on top of the card at the moment.

That should be easy to understand, but you have a lack of perspective due to personal bias.

He's the most over to a small group. That's the problem, they're playing to the fringe. Steen is a God to that small little crowd, he's a joke to every other wrestling fan. When Nigel, Danielson, Homicide, Tyler, Edwards and Richards had the belt, there was respect for the champ outside of the walls of an ROH crowd.

I hope it works out for them, because honestly ROH is pretty sad at the moment, but it was a great spot for young guys to make a name for themselves and move on up.

I wish Pearce was still booking and I also wish the Briscoes would get out of their asap somehow.

This is just something you're assuming though, again, out of personal bias.

Samoa Joe is the man who put ROH on the map, and he was almost as fat and even more stupid looking than Steen. He was also highly respected.

There's no reason Steen couldn't appeal to mainstream wrestling fans, or at least the more open minded ones. You act like only the ROH crowd can relate to a sarcastic fatass, but in reality the unkempt schlub stereotype applies to all wrestling fans.

Steen is actually pretty over everwhere he goes. He also didnt always look like that and contrary to popular belief CAN work. I dont like Cornette and all but Pearce booking was the beginning of the fall imo.

I don't know anyone who gives 2 fukks about Kevin Steen outside of that indy fan base.

Even when I was heavy into ROH I never thought Steen was much of shyt, only excelled in gimmick matches and his "rebel" act is entirely too corny.

Pearce was better than Cornette, Cornette is really bad man. I`ve never been less interested in the product than I am now. ROH always been eHHH on storylines, but right now it's an all-time low.

Adam Pearce's booking sucked until Cornette came into the picture. Tyler Black basically confirmed Cornette was the reason ROH improved in 2010 after having their worst year ever in '09.

"Lately I would say in the last couple of months, almost since Bryan (Danielson) & Nigel (McGuniess) left the company, we really hit a stride in overall production. I don't know if it was the addition of Jim Cornette or what, but it kind of lit a spark under everyone's ass, and we've been working really hard. I think our last two TV tapings have been the best we have done so far for HDNet."

"Jimmy has only been with for a short time, and people were asking who was going help us out whether it be Ric Flair or Bret Hart, but I think we got a coup with Jim Cornette leaving TNA & coming to help us. He's a smart guy, and he's been in the business for decades and just being around having him in the locker room has me immensely. I think the most important thing it has helped the energy of everything. People were kinda down, and he came in gave us a great vibe."
