Yeah if have something to hide. Plus the prosecution in the zimmerman case done a poor job anyway, so true, in his case there was no point to take the stand. But Mr. Scott taking the stand to explain why he shot a kid that was on dope and was breaking into cars and was lunging at him and did have a previous record made all the sense in the world.
