No matter your age, it’s never easy losing your father. My condolences, thoughts and prayers to them & theirs in this trying time.
I lost my pops 16 years ago, and still think about him every day. Periodically something will hit me and I'll just have a little cry thinking about him.
I watched the Rock's latest video and he spit a lot of truth in it. Seeing him reminisce about his pops and the feelings he had for him, and his admitted complexities brought me back to losing mine, and the exhortation to "hug your family and loved ones while you still can" hit home. I had a dream once where I was walking with my uncle (also deceased) and my pops, and my uncle dipped off somewhere like "I gotta go now" and then my pops later on was like "I need to go too" and I was like "you can't go yet, we still talking" and he was like "it's time; I have to go now", and I woke up crying, and wishing I had more time to spend with him.
