Grand Theft Auto V Coming to New Generation Consoles in 2021 - Rockstar Games

As recently revealed at Sony’s PlayStation 5 digital event, the adventures of Michael, Franklin and Trevor are coming to a new generation of consoles, including PlayStation 5, in the second half of 2021.

The new generation versions of GTAV will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever.

And for the massive and vibrant community of Grand Theft Auto Online players worldwide, the journey through the ever-evolving, shared world of GTA Online will continue on to the new generation with more new updates including additional GTA Online content exclusive to the new consoles and PC. There will also be a new standalone version of GTA Online coming in the second half of 2021, which will be available for free exclusively for PlayStation 5 players during the first three months.

Additionally, all PlayStation Plus members on PlayStation 4 will get GTA$1,000,000 (deposited into their in-game Maze Bank account within 72 hours of log-in) each month they play GTA Online until the launch of GTA Online on PlayStation 5.

It's just the audacity of them describing it in the newswire post as if its something people were wanting and looking forward to. Tbf I think Take Two is behind all of this and they're probably steering the Rockstar ship.

No it’s not. It’s a marketing tactic. You give away shyt at a loss, to get them in the store and buy more.


First off, GTA is on sale everywhere and the digital is like $14 or something. So what do they do? Offer to give you 1 million in “free” online money every month til ps5. That’s what? 4-6 million max. That’ll get you in the door or back playing again.

No? Ok well when you get your ps5 and dead broke after games and controllers.... gta online will be completely free for the first three months. So now you don’t have to buy shyt, and you have probably the only game, everyone else is sure to have, that’s online. Why? Cause it’s free and everyone with a ps5 has it.

ready to play now? Good. Now hopefully you’ll spend that 6 million, be hooked and spend your real money. Just once.... then they got your ass. Cause you’ll surely do it again.

Marketing 101. It is harder to get a customer in your store for the first time, than it is every time after that.
