For people wondering why Morey is still hellbent on getting Dwight even with Dwight's camp claiming DH12 will not resign with Houston after next season.. Morey thinks once he gets here and see's how we run ship, the no tax, no bs environment and sees the magic (no pun) that Morey can do when actually constructing a team around someone (that's still healthy) that DH12 will see the light... Also of course once Dwight see's exactly who or what other all-star player we pair him up with..

On the flip side, if everything with Dwight doesn't click w the Rox due to him being a baby back b!tch or (what is rumored) he milks his back injury too much to prove a point, then we simply trade him elsewhere before the Feb dateline. Even if it's half a year, some team will pull a Nets (if not the Nets themselves depending on their assets) and we still get something of value rather letting him walk for free

See???? almost a win/win unless everything goes great and just implodes after all star break.

I don't see why the Rockets get involved in Dwight's media circus knowing he don't wanna be there. It ruined Orlando's season so bad that fans were apathetic and wanted in an his prime HOFer gone by any means....that should tell you something.

Not to mention he bodied his coach and GM on the way out, and Orlando had more leverage to make him wanna stay then Houston will.

Some people say Morey's being aggressive, I think he's being desperate.

The best move is to trade Lowry and Martin off and just suck and get yourself a good pick and cap room. Not to be jerking the fans' emotions around like that.
When has that ever happened, renting a superstar that you know doesn't want to be there and will not stay.

This could all change if they find a way to drop enough cap space to get Deron too though.

Sources insist Houston no longer interested in trading for Pau Gasol.
On Dwight Howard front, source close to the situation said there's a collective yawn on Orlando's side regarding all the chatter about Houston making its push to land the big man. It certainly doesn't sound like Howard will be dealt tonight, or anytime soon, especially considering the Rockets' inability so far to land top 10 picks.

Teams have been calling the Atlanta Hawks all week to register trade interest in swingman Josh Smith, according to sources close to the situation. And one of those teams, sources said, is the Orlando Magic, who know that Smith ranks as one of Dwight Howard's closest friends. But new Hawks general manager Danny Ferry apparently isn't ready to part with Smith right away. Boston, Houston and the Los Angeles Lakers -- with Pau Gasol as the prime piece being offered in L.A.'s case -- have joined Orlando this week in making their interest in Smith known.
