Rolls Royce is so fire.

Did Roc hold Muggs at gun point in these sessions? I don’t think I ever heard a slow tempo beat before from him.

Album is dope to me

This will be a classic. Undeniably just off those singles alone.

I wonder where muggs really ranks in the pantheon of producers to people these days.

Never mind al is his student wnd his cypress hill era run

He came up in the golden era and never stopped droppinh minor hip hop gems on the world into the new age and redefined himself with gza, planet asia, ill bill.. maybe doom.. now roc marci.

im starting to think muggs > premo cause muggs gets out full albums with top talent while preme ....well been hard since guru gone. Another classic or two and i might have to bow down all together if this turns out to be the classic i want it to be...

Must buy

Btw the gza album is a strong B+ but i got BTS over it.

Ehh, it’s a been underwhelming... I was skeptical because Muggs is more miss than hit with me nowadays, but I thought this would be much better. Hopefully whatever surprises Roc tweeted about that he still has coming this year redeems this.
I haven't copped this yet but I knew something was wrong when I saw this wasn't stickied.

It's a bummer to read the negative opinions since Behold a Dark Horse just dropped and it's my favorite project of his since Reloaded.

FWIW I don't dislike Muggs at all and I think he's a solid mid-tier producer but he's not near the top of my list in recent years. I'll probably get negged for saying that. With projects that Muggs produces entirely I always want to like them more than I do (ie. the Meyhem Lauren project and the new Cypress Hill)

For Roc Marci production I mostly prefer when he produces for himself. I also like the beats he chooses from Alchemist, Q-Tip, and Arch Druids.

But if Marci only produced for himself and didn't use other outside producers I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Muggs doesnt fit every emcee, Roc Marci would actually sound doper over some Pete, large pro or Premo. Muggs is a bit overrated. Its damn near impossible to sound wack over a Premo joint.

I think Roc was a better MC in his flipmode/U.N days though so :manny:

that video of Roc rapping with the city shining in the background at night...i love videos like that.

i was probably the most vocal on here not happy that Muggs was the producer that Roc picked to do the rapper/producer thing with but outside of a few minor things to moan about i really like the album..even if i did expect more after shyt I'm On. between shyt I'm On and going back to the Muggs x Mayhem record along with the blaxploitation theme they were teasing i thought we were going get to say..music that could accompany the The Deuce on HBO etc but i'm happy enough with it.
