I was thinking about this earlier and came to realize that since Marcberg, Roc has delivered the consistency I use to look to DOOM for in the 00's, on his run that gave us 'Operation: Doomsday', 'Special Herbs' 'Take Me To Your Leader', 'Escape From Monsta Island', the Viktor Vaughn albums. 'MM...Food' and 'Madvillainy' and finished with 'Born Like This'.

Marci really put his mark on this decade. :leon:
Yea the past decade or so he created a lane a lot of cats are thriving in now. Roc is really one of the godfathers of modern day underground NY grimey rap. He a legend.

No doubt - There's an interesting convo to be had about why it's Roc in particular who ended up in this position, but we can get to that some other time.

Tag me if you do end up discussing this. I’m curious on your thoughts. I’m not exactly sure how he ended up here either. I have a lot of thoughts though.

Also, I’m not trying to drop a ‘hot take’ but I honestly think that (especially) ever since RR2 up to now that Roc has sort of transcended beyond his own wave and sound that he ushered in.
