He still has an album wit Jay Worthy coming not to mention I hope we get a pt 2 wit the leftover joints in November or December...emphasis on HOPE...actually thought this would have had more soul loops but I ain't mad at all...his best work post Dark Horse...Marcielago had sum shyt on it tho and Mt Marci is actually better than I gave it credit for upon first listen...the best song was The Generals Heart and that wasn't even on it...is it wrong to think a Roc and Action collab album would be more entertaining than Roc and Ka ?????
:francis:

the amount of beats Alch has made for cats that don't be spitting for real

Alc has been waaaaay more consistent over a much longer stretch than either Premier or Kanye. Both are great and have tremendous highs, obviously, but I really don't see either of them blowing Alc out the water. At all

Ehh…I think Alc has made some brilliant beats, but I also think too much of his catalog is an acquired taste to consider him GOAT. When I think of GOATs, I’m looking at Primo, Kanye and producers of that caliber. Alc just doesn’t compare.

:yeshrug:

I love alc, but I can’t see him being above RZA, Dre, Primo, Kanye…I’m not even a big Kanye fan but dude is next level.

I’d say Alc is in that next tier, still a GOAT…maybe 4th Disciple is somewhat comparable, but Alc has been going strong while idk if 4th disciple is even active anymore.

I don’t see a big comparison between these two. Not with activity. There’s not another producer that’s released more music with vocals on it in hip hop than Alc. Madlib is close if you count best tapes. But as far as projects with rappers on them, Al is right around 45 projects from 1st Infantry to now if you don’t include beat tapes or all the loosies he’s dropped and placements he’s had.

No one is really close to that kind of output besides Madlib. I know people know that Al has released a ton of collab and compilation projects but I don’t know how many people realize that he’s almost done 50 of them.

Alc n Ye are on the same tier.

Primo, Pete, Large Pro, Dilla, Marley, RZA, Dre are the only tier above them.

Peeped Alch's IG story, him and Roc did a pop up in Cali today and there was a line around the block of fans to buy the album/merch. Super dope to see.

Really wanted to go. Al brought a stash of some really rare Craft Singles I saw, the two singles they dropped together and that Mac Miller/Migos collab Craft Single. Pretty sure they are putting a tour together for this

Been around since the 80s come on man that's PREME :mjtf: Uncle AL put in mad work and I have no problems with abyone putting him in their top 5 or 10s.

I will forever have premier at my number one spot. In my mind the perfect beat sounds like a Premier beat. But his activity level has definitely dropped off a lot in the last 20 years. So I understand where certain people are coming from when they put Madlib or Alchemist ahead of premiere at this point in 2022. I’m not one of those people but I’m just saying that the people that make that argument tend to do it based on the amount of quality outfit from the year 2000 to now.

I get where they are coming from and I don’t argue against them too much but I don’t hold that same opinion when it comes to premier. He’s still my favorite.

By the way I’m talking into my phone so if there are any typos that’s what it is

There’s some similarity in their sounds, style, same use. It’s not an apples to apples comp of course. 4th disciple is much more comparable sonically to RZA.

Output-wise, Alc blows most out of the water

I'd put Premo over Alch because his classic tracks and his prime works are better than just about anyone's. Same with RZA and perhaps some other obvious choices. But while classic beats and what you did in your prime all matter, longevity has to count too. And I'd argue no one has been putting out dope, consistent beats longer than Alchemist and Madlib. I'll have a cool Premo beat here or there but Alch has been releasing dozens of great beats on a yearly basis now. From mainstream releases (Kendrick) to all the independent shyt, it's a dope mix.
