It kinda reminds me of Grey October a little bit, minus the seagulls of courseThe seagulls definitely get a little bit loud for me by the end

Edit: @George's Dilemma There's some super punchy drums on here like Daddy Kane, Quantum Leap, Zig Zag, Zip Guns, Bubble Bath, and Trillion Cut. And then the intro Rubber Grip doesn't really have snare drums but it had kicks and feels hard like it has drums. Most of the joints have drums. A few tracks have drums that are a part of the sample, and there's a breakbeat or two on here, but there are plenty of joints with programmed drums.
50% of the official album (14 tracks) has very pronounced and loud drums. And another 25% has lighter sounding drums embedded in the samples. Then there's another 25% that are more typical no drums at all style (Deja Vu, the title track, and Think Big come to mind).
Oh shyt, yeah it kinda doesIt kinda reminds me of Grey October a little bit, minus the seagulls of course
Alright, I'm gonna give it a listen,Edit: @George's Dilemma There's some super punchy drums on here like Daddy Kane, Quantum Leap, Zig Zag, Zip Guns, Bubble Bath, and Trillion Cut. And then the intro Rubber Grip doesn't really have snare drums but it had kicks and feels hard like it has drums.
I don't love drumless beats but I feel like on this album you kinda gotta be a super drum nazi to complain about the drums on this one.
EDIT: @choc_cardigan I think Roc and Stove aren't cool anymore and that's why Stove isnt on here.MEDIA]
I believe him and KA still good. KA was calling Mt Marci a classic and he ain’t even on it. I don’t know what’s good wit the Stovegod shyt but who knows. Roc still follows KA on IG. He don’t follow StoveGod tho. But both StoveGod and KA follow no one. And to be fair. Gunn or none of the Griselda nikkas follow StoveGod either.I also get that feeling with him and KA.
Funny fact. My moms has Roc in her top 5. Crazy as hell. LolWhere does Roc sit all time? Top 100? 50? 25? The main critique I see is he doesn't have a lot of personal records. Which is definitely true. But that's basically the main critique, and other agreed upon top artists like Redman and Snoop get a pass for it.
On some pure emcee shyt he's way up there for me. In rare air with the Black Thought and DOOM caliber emcees. In terms of overall enjoyment as an artist, I'm kind of old school and maybe a little biased. I think stuff like having a hit record or an album that everyone can appreciate (like Big, Pac, Jay, Nas, etc) is really important. But not everyone thinks that and I wouldn't argue too hard.
Dude has a consistent catalogue with some A and S tier albums, and overall emcee shyt he's S-tier.
BTW @Piff Perkins it’s funny that before this album dropped it was kind of a meme that they picked the worst song on the album for the single, but it legit turned out to be true.
