the word niger is the same word as n*gger, as in the blacks who were sold to europeans and arabs

nigeria is the land that had the largest concentration of n*ggers/nigers AKA blacks sold in the transatlantic and arab slave trades

now explain to me why you think niger and n*gger are two different words with two different meanings

"Named after the Niger River, from a native term "Ni Gir" (meaning "River Gir"). The name has often been misinterpreted as derived from the Latin niger (“black”), a reference to the dark complexions of the inhabitants of the region."

"It is often assumed that it derives from the Latin word for "black", niger, but there is no evidence for this, and it would have been more likely for Portuguese explorers to have used their own word, negro, or preto as they did elsewhere in the world; in any case the Niger is not a blackwater river. The name is thus thought to be indigenous, but no convincing origin has been found among the 30 languages of the Niger delta and lower reaches of the river. One hypothesis is that it comes from the Tuareg phrase gher n gheren "river of rivers" (shortened to ngher), originating in the middle reaches of the river around Timbuktu."

"African nation, named for the river Niger, mentioned by that name 1520s (Leo Africanus), probably an alteration of a local Tuareg name, egereou n-igereouen, from egereou "big river, sea" + n-igereouen, plural of that word. Translated in Arabic as nahr al-anhur "river of rivers.""

Doesn't come much clearer than that tbh. A common misconception and a misfortune of similarity. But we can keep going if you want. It's nothing to me, you can't win on Nigerian history against a full blooded Nigerian. :yeshrug:

Don't feel like derailing this thread though. :ld:

There's no such thing as a bloodline of slaves. Only a bloodline of kings tbh :ld:

A person is a king through bloodline, not heart. A slave's perseverance comes from his heart, not blood :ld:

:yeshrug:

you have be fukking retarded white boy

being that Nas is not royalty that line wouldn't make sense if he said it like that

His ancestors were slave HIS BLOOD RELATIVES
however, his heart is that of King and hasn't been broken by the harsh reality of ghetto

what is heart, heart is not giving up against all odds, heart is over coming those odds no matter how high they are stacked against you

only person to question is peter rosenberg because he his white and has no idea what its like to be black from the ghetto

Simeon Niger? Well he was black and that was the Greek word for black. Can't say much more. I don't know if there was a negative connotation to the word back then as there is now. But I don't really see what that has to do with the thread. :ld:

Firstly, I've already said I'm Nigerian so the first part couldn't be further from the truth.

Secondly, you're entitled to your opinion. My country is on the brink of a coup and I don't feel like arguing, sorry. :ld:

Keep doing you though breh. You have my support man :yeshrug:

Heart of a slave, blood of a King makes much more sense... the other shyt is ridiculous

only if your a bytch ass nikka

how does blood of king make sense if he's not from royalty

he line makes perfect sense, in a nutshell it mean he's come from nothing and has made it to the top

its fairly simple

thats what you get when you let corny cacs explain rap lyrics to you, if peter rosencac never said that shyt you wouldnt even have his opinion

niger, pronounced neegar or n*gger was a pejorative for the real jews in ancient times and in modern day. The jews were called n*gers when they escaped to Africa. The place where they were the most heavily concentrated was named after them, by the europeans who enslaved them. The word Nigeria and Niger denotes the locations in Africa which were the most heavily concentrated with Jews who had migrated from East Africa, originally from Jerusalem/Judea/Judah.
