but they're based on socialistic models so I don't see how it wouldn't relate to non-objective terms like "fair" when their economic situation is prevalent due to a highly subsidized market.
Choosing no wage, is the only objectively fair wage imho. Unless were entertaining a set wage for all, which we surely aren't.

... and several factors contribute to their economic success. Subsidies, specifically milk are a big factor.

What does this even mean? Like some how after the 80's they forgot how to calculate fair wages.

It means that they no longer allow the market to determine the wages but instead make assumptions on what is fair to earn or not. This is done by subsidizing several benefits such as health, pensions etc that would be individual choices if it wasn't based on fair salaries.

What is choosing no wage?

I am....currently sitting in my office.

Well educated network engineer dropping knowledge for free in the IT thread in the forum.
I can write free code for you and design an entire company's network.....

You get paid for what you bring to the table.
You will not find sympathy for bums around these parts.

golly gee willickers

so you don't get paid based on your industries market rate? or based on average salary at that level of your company? or based on your work location?

its 100% based on your own individual performance you say?

Divorcing pay from performance and distorting cause and effect IS dangerous... but emotions have been overriding good sense for some time, so :yeshrug:
I am a physiotherapist...I don't think I can ever be paid what I am worth...
When someone gets a stroke, and I rehabilitate them to regain most of the function they had before the stroke, how can you put a price tag on that...?

There is no objective way of determining how much any one or any thing is actually worth...

Money represents the amount of resources and service available to be bought. If you just arbitrarily increase the amount of money in circulation (minimum wage people put money into circulation, unlike rich b*stard CEOs), the total resources and services aren't increasing. So what happens? The price for everything skyrockets dramatically.

Dollar value is a statistic. Didn't you guys learn anything from sports? That stats earned are always specific to situation?

That being said, it's bad that the most powerful (rich) people/groups in the world get to do nothing (aka bank).

Like I said dollar value can always be debated...the question here is who determines what's fair?

The private employer or the government?

If you think your wages are unfair quit and find another job that you think has wages that matches your skill-set.

According to the Institute for Policy Studies, the $26.7 billion of bonuses Wall Street banks paid out last year would be enough to more than double the pay of every one of America’s 1,085,000 full-time minimum wage workers.

What's your point? If all that money goes into circulation, inflation goes out of control. Macroeconomics 101.

Actually, I take that back. We're only talking about 26.7 billion. I think I'd possibly support that re-distribution.
