no problem, im glad i was able to enlighten you, maybe one day you will wake up from your intellectual stagnation

:usure: Cause we can freestyle battle on skype and post it here for the people to judge.

If not, just keep dikkriding neoliberalism, imperialism, cultural assimilation, conformity, Horatio Alger faux sociological analysis and other positions that are antithetical to everything hip-hop was initially predicated on while comically posturing as the heir to Afrika Bambataa as usual.

:whoa:

sounds like you are mad cuz i dont join you in outsourcing hip hop politics/intelectualism to some leftist/marxist agenda

FYI hip hop does not equate to liberalism and neither does blackness

just like a hiphopper does in music, a hip hop intellectual such as myself is free to pick and choose to sample from any political ideology, so i apologize for the discomfort my hip hop style has caused you and for being hip hop and exercising the intellectual freedom that hip hop provides

why would i need to freestyle battle? you are welcome to challenge me in a battle on any statement that i have made right here, i dont freestyle battle i focus on the knowledge element of hip hop

RIP. sad to say I don't know much about his work but I know he's a significant figure

He's significant because his crazy ass actually came close to being on the Court. His views on the nonexistence of a right to privacy could have had terrible implications for women, racial minorities, and homosexuals, not to mention the public at large. He was also had no empathy whatsoever and treated legal work like an pure intellectual exercise, along with popularizing the unproductive Original Intent school of constitutional interpretation.

:what: Where are you getting these ridiculous assumptions from? You don't seem to get it. Unlike you, I understand hip-hop is not any type of political agenda. It's just a form of music.

First off, lol@you being an intellectual of any variety. That was funny.

But I don't care what your politics are. Your attempts to sublimate your identity and views into hip-hop is what's erroneous and nonsensical. You're free to have whatever views you want. So are these clowns.

You just don't represent hip-hop in any way, and you are no more hip-hop than them. You're less actually...at least they took the time to compose songs, are garbage as they are.

why would i need to freestyle battle? you are welcome to challenge me in a battle on any statement that i have made right here, i dont freestyle battle i focus on the knowledge element of hip hop.

You can't rap, you can't breakdance, you can't do graffiti, you can't DJ, and you can't make beats. I can rap pretty well, so therefore I am adept at least one of the four elements of hip-hop, so I'm more hip-hop than you. :umad:

You're basically just a guy with an opinion and you attempt to tie it to hip-hop by an intangible, immaterial string. lol@"I focus on the knowledge element of hip-hop." Knowledge is innately hip-hop? Damn...I didn't know all those old white geek professors at Cambridge and MIT were real hip-hoppas holding down the kulcha.

:what: Where are you getting these ridiculous assumptions from?

you accused me of having "positions that are antithetical to everything hip-hop" and presumably you take positions that are opposite to mines

so i interpreted that as you trying to claim that your liberal views are more hip hop

but if thats not what you are saying then i take it back
Unlike you, I understand hip-hop is not any type of political agenda. It's just a form of music.

well speaking of antithetical, hip hop and afrika bambatta, this statement right here is antithetical to hip hop

hip hop isnt music, hip hop is a culture, music is simply one element of hip hop culture

the only people that say hip hop is just music are people that are ignorant or people that are trying to commoditize hip hop culture to make it easier to exploit

well again this has to do with your definition of hip hop, if you think hip hop is just music, then most definitely i am not "hip hop", not only am i not "hip hop" but i :pacspit: on a lot of so called "hip hop" music

im hip hop according to the KRS/africa bambatta definition

“Hiphop is a term that describes our independent collective consciousness. Ever growing, it is commonly expressed through such elements as Breakin, Emceein, Graffiti Art, Deejayin, Beatboxin, Street Fashion, Street Language, Street Knowledge and Street Entrepreneurialism.

KRS

You can't rap, you can't breakdance, you can't do graffiti, you can't DJ, and you can't make beats. I can rap pretty well, so therefore I am adept at least one of the four elements of hip-hop, so I'm more hip-hop than you.

well first of all, i would like to congratulate you on being able to "rap pretty well", im happy for you

but unfortunately being able to "rap pretty well" doesnt mean anything in terms of hip hop

rap is something you do, hip hop is something you are

You're basically just a guy with an opinion and you attempt to tie it to hip-hop by an intangible, immaterial string. lol@"I focus on the knowledge element of hip-hop." Knowledge is innately hip-hop? Damn...I didn't know all those old white geek professors at Cambridge and MIT were real hip-hoppas holding down the kulcha.

i think you are missing the point, the point is that if you are a professor at Cambridge and MIT you can still be hip hop if you are part of the collective consciousness regardless if you can "rap very well"

because there is nothing special about the music element of hip hop, its simply one of the elements

i posted the vids in the thread discussing nikka in case you missed it

Ronnie Reagan had to be in the throes of Alzheimer's to even think for an instant that Bork would get confirmed. The guy was a totally delusional idealogue.

LOL, i saw what you wrote

but here is the real problem with what vic is saying and this whole notion of hip hop is just music

1) its funny he posted that video of that conservative rap because that is the perfect exhibit as to why its a mistake to say hip hop is just music, under the hip hop is just music definition those guys are definitely hip hop, using that definition anybody can exploit the culture and that is exactly what's happened, that is why real hip hop heads never go around saying hip hop is just music or make rap music the defining characteristic of hip hop

2) nowadays hip hop music is one of the defining aspects of black culture , so there is a method to the madness of trying to accentuate the knowledge element of hip hop

but notice how vic tried to create a dichotomy between hip hop and a professor at Cambridge and MIT and he tried to mock me trying to align hip hop with high academic achievement

so in other words he is trying to emphasize that rap, which is a very important part of black culture, has nothing to do with high academic achievement, what message is going to kids by people doing that???

so on those 2 points its clear how pernicious the concept of hip hop is just music is and its clear who is actually pro hip hop and pro black

the question vic needs to ask himself is, are you really hip hop or are you just a guy that "raps pretty well", it sounds to me that you're just a guy that raps pretty well, so forgive me for dismissing your definition of hip hop and you got a lot of nerve suggesting that i hold positions or make statements antithetical to hip hop
