Too be fair to Floyd, and just judging him off of "names" and using no context (like most people do for old-timers), his resume is:

He's 46-0 and has fought 21 World Champions (either current/former/would go on to become Champion).

It's great, imo, which is why I have him in the Top 15-25 range All-Time. I just cant see him sneaking into the Top 5 which is where the GOAT discussion takes place.

Cotto was already out of his prime when Floyd fought him 4 years later. And he had took 2 serious beatings at the hands of Antonio Margarito and Manny Pacquiao (which in many people's opinion took his prime right out of him) before fighting Floyd.
Floyd wasn't in his prime either and Cotto is still going strong btw. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is that Floyd never ducked him.

Cotto is not going strong:comeon:

Floyd Sr knows the truth, like most of us that post on here.....that win over an injured Martinez was nothing to brag about. Especially when Austin Trout whooped that ass worse than Floyd did in the fight IMMEDIATELY after the Floyd vs Cotto fight.

Following Cotto's TKO win over Sergio Martinez in June, Roach stated at the post-fight press conference that Cotto would knock Floyd out in the rematch. Mayweather Sr. feels Roach is overrating Cotto's win over Martinez, because the Argentine boxer was dealing with injuries and coming back from a long layoff.

"Oh come on, that’s the craziest sh*t he’s ever said in his life. Let him fight Alvarez and see if can get past Alvarez, that’s who he needs to beat. There’s no big deal about that guy that he beat, it’s not no big thing that Cotto beat Martinez," Mayweather Sr. said.

"Are you serious? Are you telling me Floyd couldn’t whoop [Martinez]? That guy's whole damn body was torn up, that guy had two knee surgeries. The guy had a shoulder injury, the guy had injuries, his hand was soft and messed up. Everything was wrong with that man.

"The man had been out for a year and a half. Everything was against him, there was nothing that he had that was in his corner. Who couldn’t whoop a guy like that?
That would have been an easy one for Floyd. Floyd could have took that and been the middleweight champion."

Cotto gets his ass beat by Trout, beats an ESPN fighter, beats a handicap by a bad knee washed up 39 year old fighter, and he's still going strong?:camby:

And Floyd didnt duck Cotto...Cotto ducked him first. However, Floyd could've fought him in 2008, but instead retired and missed the opportunity to put his hands on a Prime Cotto. Im not gonna say Floyd ducked Miguel Cotto at all, because thats not true.

Cotto:camby:
I think Cotto was a good win for Floyd. He definitely brought it that night and looked good but came up short. And Martinez looked like doo-doo against him, no question. But guess what? Cotto is now a champ again. I'd say he's going strong, even if he isn't as good as he once was.

He did duck Paul Williams, Antonio Margarito, and the Filipino who shall remain nameless though.

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
Arum said Floyd agreed to fight Margarito for $8m but wanted more to fight Hatton and Cotto (he was only offered $7m). A year later, he got $20m to fight Hatton.

Floyd could've made that much, possibly more fighting any of the four I named that he did duck instead of Hatton, but Floyd rather fight lesser opponents. Just like now he's guaranteed $41 million... instead of fighting his #1 contenders Khan or Thurman, he rather fight Khans leftovers...Maidana.. forcing him to fight in sparring gloves :mjpls:

You saw how much he was getting offered for each. He made $25m against Oscar, $20m for Hatton so you're wrong.

Yea, I saw he got offered good career high purses to fight Cotto and Margarito. Oscar took a gamble and offered him double... cool... Now instead of retiring for two years, he could've easily negotiated his purse after making that much to beat a washed up De La Hoya and had Arum match that shyt to fight one of those four he ducked

So first you say: Floyd could've made that much, possibly more fighting any of the four I named that he did duck instead of Hatton, but Floyd rather fight lesser opponents

You were wrong. You're probably wrong a lot.
