The details of the scene can give some insight into it possibly being an actual suicide. For instance were his feet off the ground and if so was there something present he could jump from.

Is his family detailing any problems worthy of suicide. And for black people, it generally is very worth it. If brothers sitting in prison with a thousand years not hanging themselves... I mean what!

As someone who's dealt with suicides and suicide attempts, brehs are better at attempts where they're actually crying for attention.

As a black man who has considered suicide (and plenty do), at my worst I had considered public trees, but one thing holding me back was the idea of people considering or investigating it as a lynching.

I see no reason why someone just as or more unstable wouldn't go through with that though, even with the imagery.

I agree it should be investigated though, but public suicides are real and not uncommon.
