Michael, Whitney, and Prince. They weren't just the biggest black artists of the 80s, the were the biggest artists of the 80s PERIOD. MTV owes them. There's a lot of black people that may not know who Culture Club or ABC were, but white folks sure as hell know who those three were. They couldn't help but respect that black excellence. MTV wouldn't have been shyt without it.

Little known fact, he was a Jehovah Witness & therefore didn't vote.

And because of his faith he was known in the industry for not granting rappers permission to sample his music if they had explicit lyrics.
