Yeah, the report about him being hospitalized last week could have been worse than we know. He might have known he didn't have much time left, hence the party the next day and the appearances he made.That's why I have a hard time believing the full blown AIDS theory. They showed him at the Warriors game a few weeks ago and he looked his usual bad ass self but you never know. Probably some form of cancer. Whatever the cause, I believe he knew he was in his final days and wanted to keep performing and making music til the end. And the way he stepped to Rev.
