RIP to one of the legends of the game. One of the best winning percentages as a coach and providing decades of knowledge and and insight to the fans to regaling children and adults of all ages with his face on the box of a game that we all played with each other and shared joy whether we won or lost. Peace and Blessings sir.

RIP to Coach Madden even though that was probably the 3rd thing he was known for after his iconic video game and excellent announcing career.

All 3 are HOF level for contribution to the game :wow: The main reason I hate the Raiders at this point is just because I’m supposed to from his yrs :pachaha:

Although he was a giant in the game of football, broadcasting and video games,

with the way he carried himself, one would never know it.

He was a humble and decent man. Never boosted himself and gave everyone their props.

Unlike most of these other sports figures today, he never made things about himself (even with a game named after him).

RIP John Madden

Dudes games kept alot of people out of trouble. RIP to a legend
Naw not me. This game almost had me flunk out of college freshman year. Me and my patnas were literally playing for 8-10 hours deep into the night missing class the next day and shyt. We were addicts.

You watch all these old clips, you realize how much more blue-collar the NFL was back then. I'm not just talking about the tackling rules. It's also the stadiums, the fans, the rivalries, and even Madden's voice just sounds like someone who should be working in a factory. I was surprised to learn a few years ago that he was from the Bay Area. Seems like someone who would be from the Midwest or Western PA somewhere.

A legend. It’s crazy thinking how I knew who Madden was as a young black boy in the hood. His games probably kept a lot of us out of trouble

My stepdad use to whoop my ass on Madden. He was a beast. Always playing in tournaments or building dynasties. Really one of the few things we ever bonded over

It did for me. Madden, Live, NHL, MVP kept a lot of us home and out the streets

Rest easy to the legend
Had every Madden game from 94 to about 2009, from Sega all the way to PS3. Even as a young child just button mashing not knowing what the hell i was doing :russ:

And he had a cameo in one of my favorite flicks, Little Giants :mjcry:
