Its ridiculous how this man's family has to put up a go fund me for his funeral expenses.... All of these millionares in this shyt and nobody chipped in yet? I hope they reach the mark by the end of the week

Ol school.way of thought artist before the new school way of thought.. That is to be expected considering the way of thought whodini originated in.
That is why hiphop history is important. So anyone in hiphop can understand the business sector. Plus any businesses derived from the four pillars. Including experience from that braintrust and apply it to other industries.
autonomously with good faith and forth right practices.
Whodini was there before the mores and norms of the ol school way of thought. Gave way to new school way.
So, an issue financially is a general one. Given his way of thought era, whodini originated from.

It is not surprising at all.
It is generally rather common.

Good point the same applies to Dr Dre the dj/radio personality with his diabetes issue amputation and blindness and Yo MTV Raps he was part of history giving artists mainstream national rap attention like nwa and other behind the scenes stuff then again , unfortunately many unsung heroes don't get notice when hip hop is still relatively a young art form it's sad

RIP man, I'm young so I'm only familiar with Freaks Come Out At Night but I'm aware of how they were one of the bigger acts in the mid 80's

when one of my employees died from COVID in July, I was able to raise $9,150 on GoFundMe. They should at least be able to top that. I hope. Sad.

Above the fray.
To keep it 100, I can't support these hip hop themed museums that have popped up.

A few have popped up or are in the works, and we've posted articles about them.

The first two generations of hip hop artists in NYC are still alive. If these museums don't have publicized rotating lectures/classes/concerts featuring the living legends, then it's just a money grab. Pay homage and give them an outlet to educate the masses AND make money.

If the living pioneers don't eat from it, it's culture vultur-ism.

My Uncle(RIP) was a huge fan of Whodini because he liked the funk elements that were present in their music. I used to get up every morning before school playing Five Minutes Of Funk and Freaks Come Out At Night. When Back In Black dropped, we played the hell out of that tape.

Rest In Beats, Ecstacy.

And Thank You.

Wow Only 4 pages on a hip hop site :snoop:

i feel you b. To be fair Whodini was in that era before albums were the big thing in Hip Hop and before that Rakim/KRS/Ice Cube era where they’re more well known. Whodini as a group and the individual members wouldn’t be very well known to anyone who wasn’t A) alive in that time and consciously listening to that music or B) done their history and really looked back on Hip Hop. I’m half way between those groups, I’m too young to know who they were when they were hittin and I didn’t have any older brothers etc to put me up in it. But at 15 I dug deep and bought albums from a lot of the early 80s era groups like Whodini, Run DMC, etc.
