man,....real talk.

if not for whodini.
i was just in this other thread about the equalizer.
if not for whodini man.

this instrumental helped hiphop become a mainstream ideal as far as a becoming a theme for radio shows or products or segueways for products. literally the instrumental to this played everywhere. so it gave hiphop legs by proxy, even if it was a break. or played as an instrumental.

i don't think i would have even been crazy about having a radio still if not for one love rock'n.
i remember being at the fourth of july fireworks at the lakefront on the south side at thirty ninth.
we had church's chicken and i remember still to this day flex'n and top rock'n to one love and of course:

this video transistion from friends, to freaks was indicative of how seamlessly they rocked single to single as well.
as they were a perfect storm. as far as expressing the type of legacy artistically you are chasing to make history on a skill basis as far as ol school mastery to segueway into the new school way of thought and the pillar of emcee'n.
as a skill level and expression of legacy of that skillbase.
plus it capturing the essence of tha chi at the point in time on thirty ninth at the lake on the rocks. .

plus, both still rock'n damn near till ll came out of fukk'n no where with:

I NEED A BEAT

shyt changed my whole world.
still before that. whodini literally was like the defiant one gateway thing to dispel the idea of anything related to hiphop being a misappropriated culture. that was reduced to just a fad.

hard times for a bboy in this era without this record.

it also,...seguewayed into why rap records in the new school way of thought concentrated directly on just the performance of the emcee. which is why ll, became ll.
as he was the boy king that segueway'd the legacy of ol school into carryover ol school legacy bridgeway to new school way of thought artist.
before that tho.
if not for whodini for sure for sure.

hip hop would not be a thing that existed past being deemed a fad.

i been really thinking about his death a lot since i saw it fly across my ticker or feed originally.

this was like the last beacon for the business of rap and all of hiphop as a gateway.
once upon a time.

this culture will never get anything else like that in ol school way of thought history either.
nor will there every be a pivotal moment in new school way genesis thought as well.

RIP

one love
