RIP Chadwick Boseman - The Black Panther

This is sad man. My night is seriously ruined right now. I don't typically feel heavily for most celebs, but I had a genuine like, interest, respect and appreciation for Chadwick and I haven't felt a celeb death hit me like this since possibly ever. Kobe's was close, but his was mostly heightened because his daughter was with him and I have daughters and that we were the same age. I felt for a while that he was the next big IT black actor. I mean, he pretty much cemented that years ago, but still, was looking forward to all the other roles he'd eventually fulfill. I was hoping all this time that his weight loss was going to turn out to be something lighter or something, tho I had a nagging feeling it was going to end up being something devastating. *Sigh*. I'm fukked up right now.

Rest in Peace, Chadwick Boseman. Many years ago, I watched you in the movie 42 and thought you'd make the perfect Black Panther. It was an absolute pleasure to see that dream come true. You were outstanding in the role, and the movie is one of my all time favorite films largely in part because of you. Heartbroken. Your replacement will have some massive shoes to fill. It being revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer back in 2016 and managed to film Black Panther while that sat in the back of his head makes his outstanding job as the King of Wakanda that much more impressive and saddening.

Going to be a long time before I feel comfortable watching a lot of my favorite films again. Rest well, King. Thank you for being a major part of Black History.

All of this, except I'll most likely be watching all of his movies this weekend/week in commemoration. Damn...he was only 4 years older than me. RIP.
