but a lot of normal people just automatically view those who commit suicide as selfish. sometimes it is, but other times its because of clinical depression. I don't know Steez's situation, but I have a feeling he had some mental issues that were never properly addressed because of the reluctance a lot of black people seem to have when it comes to addressing those things. black people need to realize mental health and suicidal thoughts aren't just "white people problems"

Mental health and mental issues are always being swept under the rug and dismissed. That's why when there's a mass shooting, the government try to ban guns instead of looking at the real problem.

There's very little done to look into prevention . I think there needs to be a push worldwide to target those with problems and assist them before bigger and much worse things happen.

Everything is always an afterthought .

First off, no one gives a fukk if you don't respect him for killing himself. I'm sure he didn't give a fukk either.

Secondly, no one knows what this kid was going through. You can say he was weak etc but we don't all have the same brain and sh!t, sh!t affects us all differently.

used to think suicide was selfish til I really studied mental health and dealt with a person who was suffering from depression.

shyt is an unbearable type of pain that rational thinking people can't fathom. these people don't actually want to off themselves, but for someone dealing with severe depression and a chemical imbalance, it often seems like the only release. has little to do with them bytching and moaning about petty shyt. it's literally a disease that they can't control. pills and therapy can cover it but it doesn't make it completely go away. it's similar to bleach. it covers the stain but it doesn't really clean it.

mental health is one of those issues that desperately needs to be addressed in the black community, because it seems like most of us have a real misunderstanding of it and aren't very empathetic to the people who suffer from it.
