That’s not totally true..
I had a colonoscopy/EDG done at 36..
Doctor was reluctant but i persisted
Even with knowing my family history
He kept saying I was too young..
Being adamant about my issues resulted in finding tumors in my duodenum
It was a year and a half of still trying to figure out what was wrong with me
When it comes to black people
Health care professionals don’t take our issues seriously
Not saying this was the case with Chadwick
But your everyday breh/brehette goes through the most
Unless you know someone at the physicians office
Or
Have family in the healthcare field
That’s when doctors and nurses move their ass the most
Rip Chadwick

My point was that the risk of colon cancer for a healthy person under 50 with no stomach issues and family history is low. Thus, a doctor will not recommend a colonoscopy in this situation.

I grew up doing a lot of papers and projects on Thurgood Marshall so I had to see the movie. I remember sitting there like "we really couldn't find a AA to play Thurgood:martin:" I came out of the movie a fan of Chadwick because of his performance.

I'm a cynical 33 year old but the way Black Panther made me feel like a little kid was:wow:. I also teach and the joy and love it brought to the little brehs and brehettes was a beautiful thing to see:to:.

I guess I'll stop putting off 5 bloods and watch it tomorrow, no way I make it through without tearing up, life ain't fair brehs:mjcry:

ETA: He was great in Jackie Robinson too. I'm watching my Whitesox and they're talking about his death on Jackie Robinson day of all days. I hate this year...

Chadwick was African American though, unless I'm misundanding your post?

i feel like he did it to leave a legacy and because it’s something he loved doing. I mean of course the money too, but I’m sure the Marvel money is more than enough to take care of his fam.

y’all are both probably right...in a nutshell dude wasn’t gonna stop living and decided to go even harder...truly remarkable

Rest in Peace, you will not be forgotten and thank you for being such a great face for the black community on the screen and off

Such a humble, respectful brother. I always got the impression from his interviews that he wasn't into all of the stardom and truly didn't think he was better than anyone else. He always seemed so down to earth, and grounded.

Seeing all this stuff about Colon Cancer reminds me of when Will Smith did a video of his Colonoscopy visit.

They found some polyps, which are like benign tumors that could become cancerous tumors if not treated. In which they put a loop around it, and burn it off with a small electrical charge that is painless.

But still Colon Cancer is no joke, but men, even though your suppose to get it starting at 50, are afraid of it because of 'I don't someone putting something up my ass'.

Chadwick wasn't even 50 yet, so that diagnosis must have been a shock. Probably thought it was like constant stomach cramps/pain that wouldn't go away, so he visited a doctor, and then boom, Stage 3 diagnosis at such a young age.
