a kid at 16 having problems..how shocking......

he was having problems so its nothing that his life was taken from him

I think ppl are trying too hard to find "other" things about this story..and stories like this.....

when the officers ran up on him..they didn't know about his "problems"

all they saw was a young black male

fucc if I was killed and they released my record from a juvie I might have some shyt on there...

Did that stop me from being who I am today??

Did that kid not have a chance to change his life??

The problem is that both stories are plausible, it's possible that there was never a gun, but it's also probable that he did have one, there is nothing about this dude that screams innocence

What is soo hard to understand...I already said if he had a gun he was wrong

I'm not defending his "innocence"

I'm defending his right to live

His right to make mistakes and the chance to turn his life around

What law in this country says carrying a gun without a permit is punishable by death

please find that law for me

These cops are cowards

you know there's no law like that. Which is what makes it wrong. at 16 his life hadn't even really begun. It was stolen from him. I don't think you'll find anyone here saying his murder was justified.

There are always two sides to every story though....
What if he DID pull and point the gun at the cops? Let's just say WHAT IF he did? Were they justified in protecting themselves?

O I forgot he was black boy in America..so he doesn't have that chance like a white boy

i find your sarcasm at a 16 year old having an arrest card quite disturbing, its almost like you are trying to make me think like there is not something seriously wrong with this 16 year old

i dont think he deserved to die, but if the prints on the gun com back negative, all this rioting was for nothing

it isnt ok to shoot criminals just because, but it isnt ok to be criminal in the black community either, this guys was as much as part of the problem as the cops are

I understand what you're saying, but we all know the history with NYPD. You know tension has been brewing for the longest. We dont what type of incidents could have happened in the last few weeks between cats in that neighborhood and the cops. It's probably been bubbling for awhile and this just set it off.

It doesn't have to be about him in terms of his character, though. His criminality is incidental to the case. The same was true for Rodney King, who was no saint, either. It's more about the general abuse of power by the police- there's nothing that says they wouldn't have done the same to anyone else.

his criminal record has to do with how believable the police assertion is that he had a gun, if he did have a gun, then its a wrap, if he didnt then you can say its police abuse

it doesnt mean its ok, but it does mean the cops are not legally liable and that this guy was a criminal

I'm tired if riots when the pd shoots up the hood, but barely a peep when we do it to each other.
I want the community to come out strong to stop violence within their very own neighborhoods.
this riots aren't solving the problem of high crime in these areas.

those cops fire em jail em. they fukked up bad.
