I wonder if the car was bullet proof, and I don't think those shots were landing as close as they seemed

I guess theyre finally realizing the favelas are an issue with the Olympics over the horizon? :mjpls:

Pretty much...the next couple years are going to be rough for the criminal element there because there is no way Brazil is going to risk any bullshyt happening to visitors during the Olympics.

@Type Username Here school me bruh how common are these types of shootouts :lupe:

Pretty common actually. The Favela is a warzone.

Don't know much about this incident, but I'm assuming it's MP.

There are basically 4 police units patrolling in Rio:

Civil Police
Military Police
BOPE, which is an elite offshoot of Military Police
And sometimes they bring the actual Military to do operations

shyt gets wild out there, especially now that they are trying to clean up for both large events.

You brazilian brè ? If so, how realistic were both Tropa De Elite ?
I liked those movies but sometimes I was  at some of the events : like
When the two journalists gets clapped for example... Could the murder of a journalist go unnoticed like it was in the movie ?

It was pretty realistic in a lot of areas. Some of course was overly dramatized, but for the most part that is how it is. I'm talking about Part 1, part 2 is was more hollywood.

That's basically what they turn out to be. They are usually sent when all other options have been exhausted.

Yup. People forget that before Mexico, there was Colombia. Colombia during the 80s, early 90s were fukking insane. You're talking about bombing entire supermarkets, bombing a plane full of people to kill one person, etc..

Basically, when Colombia cooled down, Mexico and Brazil picked up the slack.

Yeah Part 2 seemed more spectacular so I understand what you mean.
Thanks for the info.

Brazil in the cartel game like that ?
I thought their drug game was more about the 3 main gangs and the control of the favelas ?

Yup, you're correct. But Brazil is pretty different in this: Brazil is the number 2 drug using country, but most of the drugs are either homegrown or imported from Bolivia and other countries. So it's basically a mixture of large drug base and these large drug trafficking gangs which have access to politicians, judges, police, and military grade weapons.

You have a lot of kidnapping, extortion, and sex trafficking as well.
