Everything about this movie was cool...except for Matt Damon. Can't believe he got nominated for this. Saw another review call him Jim Halpert in space, and that's exactly what he was. Smug, annoying and completely unlikable. Was ready for him to die 40 minutes in. I liked his character in Interstellar more than this. And he used to be my favorite actor...

Tom Hanks would have killed this role
And they definitely would never have nominated Will Smith for this type of basic ass performance :mjpls:

It was a good movie but forgettable. :manny:

I just watched this recently on DVD.
It was okay. I didn't see any green Martians though.

I read the book and watched this movie again and now I hate this movie even more than I did previously.

Matt Damon annoying dikkhead ass. :scust:

I mean Mark Watley in the book was annoying, but Matt Damon had to go extra with it.

They missed so many good parts of the book

the dust storm, his rover tumbling, the actual ending

Of course they had to Hollywoodize the ending. :martin:

fukk you Matt Damon. :pacspit:Never seeing another movie you are in.

You realize he plays the same characters right, smug knowitalls.

ETA: Matt Damon got nominated for an Oscar for this? :dahell::beli:

I would say Will Smith in Concussion was a way better performance than this bullshyt.

I don't know if I said this in here yet, but I rewatched the martian lately and I liked it alot more then I did in theaters. It won't go down in the pantheon of sci-fi films though and it couldn't even come close to fukkin' with interstellar.

I still haven't watched Interstellar. Maybe I'll give it a go later tonight.

It's just...as much as I like Nolan, I have a hard time watching anything with Matthew McConaughey

interstellar was a grower for me. Iike, obviously I liked it the first time I watched it but the movie goes pretty deep with it's ideas and it takes a lot to digest, I've rewatched it at least 20 times. I love McConaughey personally but this film is incredible, it might be my favorite Nolan film. And Hanz Zimmer lays down one of his best musical scores ever.

Oh and like @hex said True Detective Season 1 will make you like McConaughey. Maybe check that out first so you don't go into interstellar with a mean mug.
