You don’t think he can do what Heinicke just did?
Of course AS offensive system is predicated on RPO and that fits Justin Fields' skill set but
if the Falcons are looking for a QB in that type of criteria they'll need a poor mans Lamar Jackson
Justin just ain't it, hes slightly a step above Ridder and thats nothing to be bragging about.
and the fact you compared Fields to Heinicke shows how much of a sh!tty QB situation the Falcons are in.

I get it, Fields is a hometown kid, went to UGA it would be a feel good story. This is the NFL people careers are on the line
this franchise is trying to win, not make Hallmark movies.

They had a chance to draft him out of college. If they didn’t rate him then, they hat has he done to change that?
We reached and drafted a TE that we don’t use as much as our second string TE. At the time, we needed weapons on offense and thought anyone could run the offense and be successful (Mariota). I’m not saying he’s our savior but he can run the offense better than what we have at a cheaper price than someone like Kirk.

You didn’t answer my question in anyway

I just think him in the RPO opens the field for our RBs. Defense have to account for his legs bc he can run for 100+ yards in his games. He has a more accurate arm than Ridder. He’s had multiple multi TD and 250+ yard passing games. Ridder can’t really do that :francis:

I answered it here. We didn’t think QB was a more pressing need.

All I got to say is this. It doesn’t matter who we place at quarterback. Our offensive schemes have been pretty bad majority of the season. This team will always underachieve with AS as the coach……he’s gonna save his job like cancer coming back after chemo :skip:

Lord don’t let us make the playoffs :mjcry:

Fields can run the offense just as well as any of the quarterbacks we have on the roster. He’s also much more talented and gifted. This is not a difficult offense to run seeing how Ridder was given so many opportunities despite looking like he’s on the spectrum with his decision making. Best bet is trading for Fields while he’s still cheap. Worst case is getting Tannehill or washed Cousins. Isn’t Cousins still on an expensive contract?

Bro Justin Fields has already told yall he doesn’t want to be in a complicated offense. He complained about that this season in Chicago about too many voices making him play robotic. This isn’t an easy offense to run (Kaleb McGary is quoted this season as saying a lot has to go right for this offense to work) and he’s going to have AS and Dave Ragone in his ear all year about how to run this offense. Y’all gotta let this Justin Fields shyt go, he’s not a fit for this offense outside of being mobile

So complicated that a career backup that couldn’t last in Carolina and Washington can run it? Y’all gotta stop with that narrative as well. Dude is more talented than every QB on the roster and none of the clowns we have have consistently looked competent this year. It’s more than his mobility but it helps our run game when he’s able to run the RPO and be a threat along with our backs

We're in a quarterback conundrum going into next off season.

Ridder sure has hell doesn't need to be the starter.

I'm sure AS doesn't want to go into next season with a rookie QB, that would put hella pressure on his azz.

Only good QB in the free agency market is Kirk Cousins he'll be 36 coming off an achilles injury.

This team is a solid QB away from being a pretty damn good team......This division should have been a cake walk this season.

If AS somehow saves his job (SMH if that happens but it’s a possibility now) obviously you have to address QB, I’d rather we draft a QB but then again I don’t trust this FO or coaches evaluations of QBs so I kinda feel like we’ve gotta go get a guy in FA or via trade. Kyler Murray? Jake Browning?

QB is one part of the problem but play calling is too, I think any condition of AS returning has to be him giving up play calling duties and getting a real QB coach

It’s not a narrative if a veteran OL on this team is telling you that this is a complex offense. It’s a fact. And BTW, I can acknowledge Fields is a more talented QB and not a good fit for this offense, both things can be true. It’s not a personality fit, not a personnel fit, it’s some Madden shyt plus he’d be on the last year of a deal and you’d have to give up draft capital to get a guy who may not be here a year after that. I hate everything about that type of deal.

Also, it’s not like Heinicke has consistently played well, he had a nice game today and has had moments where he’s looked average to awful (Arizona, Minnesota as examples). He’s a backup for a reason. Any pro QB is going to have his moments but you’re actin like Justin Fields has been this model of accuracy and efficiency in Chicago, he’s not the guy you’re projecting him to be

The heights
Breh I already made my views on Justin clear. He’s not a fit in a highly complex, restrictive system that forces him to think a lot and not just be free and play. It’s not a good choice if Arthur Smith is still the coach

And I don’t want to hear about bad play callers with Arthur Smith as HC/offensive coordinator
I told you even tho Arthur smith is bad luke getsy is worst as a play caller :hubie:
