10 years late. The music industry died in 2014. One platinum dropped in 2014 before streaming became a thing. Taylor Swift was the only artist to release a new album that year and have it go platinum.
The name of the game is touring. Turning your tour into a whole ass entertainment show is where its at. The problem is most of your favorite rappers cannot afford to tour as the costs are very expensive. So they end up doing promotions at nightclubs where they get into trouble or shot at. Sad reality.

This shyt dead man. It doesn’t help that there’s still so many trying to make it. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when the same like 10 artists(maybe) get old and can’t bring in money like they used to.

he basically alluding to lucian grainge son taking over atlantic, that emphasis on ice spice said it all
Exactly. Thats why I look at people funny when they talk about the beef with Drake because I’m like anyone paying attention would have realized that this foundation of what is going on is label related or how the money is distributed. When Vince staples was first asked about the beef he talked about it, when drake and Kendrick sending shots at each other about publishing and contracting, everyone questioning Drake’s deal with a microscope now, the constant mention of having to push albums back bc of Taylor swift. Lucian grainge and Elliot taking more control due and pushing out the old heads for possibly more tech based people. The talks about Gamma, ice spice, sexy redd. It’s all related. Ross knows exactly what’s going on. They all do.

The music industry is changing because music is no longer viable as you’re only option to make it. Thanks to how streaming is done. These execs peeped that Now you have to be a content creator. Everyone will have to be for the coming future and it becomes a question of how to pay for that because content will be the way new deals are based around.

Imagine having all that money and just being bored at home :mjlol:
Funny you mention that. I was watching that Showtime special from years back of Mayweather days before he was supposed to go to jail for a few months and saw how lonely and bored he was. It was truthfully sad b/c you could tell he had to pay people just to be around him. This video is giving me the same vibes.
