that isnt true though and you know it

:belip: im not talking about charity, etc

there are no tangible positive effects resulting from the belief in god. 0. it is 100% belief and faith

if you got cancer and you could either go to the doctor or pray, but not both, we all know what youd do

morals friend morals

good morals always lead to better living

you cant claim that morality is derived from god, because there is no tangible evidence of this. i think killing is wrong because i have felt the pain of losing a loved one and can empathize with the family of someone who dies. also, AS FAR AS WE KNOW, we only have these 80 years on earth. so to deprive someone of that life prematurely would be wrong.

i dont need an invisible being who has supposedly revealed himself to humans a thousand different ways to tell me whats right and wrong. if he wants my respect he can tell me himself, like he apparently did 2000 years ago

religion is teaching children and adults morals everyday

what science class did you ever have that taught you not to steal from others?

you dont need to believe in some bullshyt space god to teach someone not to steal, so im not sure what your point is

religion has also taught people that humans must be sacrificed to appease the gods, so the crops will grow

science never taught you not to steal

i already agreed with that :what:

science has tangible negatives and positives, belief in god only has tangible negatives. once again, strong emphasis on TANGIBLE

well then if you agree with that how can you agree it is any better than religion in that aspect if not on equal levels of capability to cause harm?

for every person that died because of a religious zealot there is someone suffering or dying because a gun is being pointed at their skulls

if you put a bible in a room with a child and in another room put a science book in a room with another child what would happen? equal opportunity to cause harm

yes, but there are tangible positive effects that can result with the science book. there are no tangible positive effects for putting faith into god and believing he is there.

your point about morals is irrelevant because you dont need religion to have morals
