Human beings havnt changed much in thousands of years. Science is a methodology. The religion that would spring up around it to govern and rule mens minds, would have the same sets of problems people have with modern religion. Mans interpretation of it.
If slavery was just work, it wouldn't be slavery. Slavery by definition is dominion over another person, and so allows for rape and brutality even if there are formal laws against it.

To a demon maybe but to people who are using scripture to enslave people its unfair and unjust which scripture tells them not to be. When you use Gods word, you're held to a higher degree of responsibility then the average demonic slob friend. No wonder God took the slaves away from them. They didnt know what they were doing.
The scripture says to treat slaves well, but it also says that you can rape female slaves and turn them into concubines. The scripture's definition of treating them well is itself perverse.

No, i remember this was talked about this before and that was a lyric you chose to misinterpret like you do a lot of topics when you need to reach to make a point, which you tend to do a lot. Treating someone well and then raping them is an obvious contradiction so its obvious you're misinterpreting that or whatever you're reading did not translate it correctly, friend.
Actually, you're wrong. Dafunkdoc presented an admirable attempt to prove that sex slaves were not part of the Biblical definition of slave, but he did not succeed, as even the source he quoted said they did not have conclusive proof that the words used did not refer to sex slaves. The scholarly sources all agree that the strongest possiblity is the one you don't want to accept.

Yeah, all the rights except the right to consent or refuse and the actual meager benefits of wifehood, since those were reserved for the actual wives, not the slaves. Look up the thread if you want the names of the scholars.
