Sometimes eyewitness testimony can be unreliable. Some people see what they want to see. I was in an uber, and the driver hit a pedestrian. The pedestrian crossed the street while the light was green, and he ran across the cross-walk in traffic. While the uber driver and I called an ambulance, the cops came. This white family stopped at the intersection to tell the cops that the light was RED and that the pedestrian was allowed to walk.
The cops took the uber driver's license away temporarily, but eventually it took a couple of months to prove that he was innocent and the eyewitness gave unreliable information to the police.
You can't trust every eyewitness.
