Rich kids run basketball now

I realized this years ago. shyt They're already running the league now. No more guys who came up on the playground like Dr. J ,Magic, and Allen Iverson.
Exact same thing happen to baseball... It's a big reason American soccer hasn't taken off as projected too, you need a lot of money for your kid to get all the access and amenities that others get. Rich people have a big advantage in life, and even in youth sports (this is the same for golf, lacrosse, and hockey too, the amount of money to do the AAU/Premier lifestyle is enormous)

They did a study, I like about 20 or so years ago, where it said players from upper middle class or wealthy backgrounds are overrepresented in the NBA.

The streets chew up and swallow the kids from the traditional hoop cities. They used to get passes because people saw that they had a chance, but those days are over.
It was inevitable. The NBA the only major basketball league so after a few generations of players come in and figure the game out and retain their wealth it gets easier and easier to raise the kids up to that standard. I agree with the other tweet, America DESPERATELY needs another big basketball league and more support for minor leagues but at this point it wont ever happen and all well have is the NBA and a bunch of neckbeards screaming at people about how much richer theses guys are than everyone in comment sections
france does it right in all sports. they're maximizing the talent that's available to them.

Now the new narrative is “what happened to the trench babies?” Even though those trench babies are literally the AAU culture that you claim is killing American basketball.
