Y'all up in here trippin telling OP he can eat white rice. Brown rice is a complex carb and wont spike your insulin levels. White rice is a simple carb and will spike your insulin levels, like candy and simple sugar does. Don't mess with white rice at all. Where do you clowns get your info?

So There's Arsenic in Our Rice—Now What? - Elaine Schattner - The Atlantic

Brown rice has higher levels of arsenic, and you in here talking about complex carbs.

Arsenic in drinking water has been linked to causing skin cancer, but you worried about insulin levels, keep fukking with that brown rice breh :russ:

White rice spikes insulin, and brown rice has arsenic...:wtf:

so **** rice? :sadbron:

nah everything in moderartion. like @Malta said...white rice is the staple of Asians diet and they're thinner and healthier than most westerners. BUT they also eat a lot of veg, fish(fishoils/omega3's) and low saturated fats. if you watch the rest of your diet white rice is fine even daily.

In the post workout window is the only time I eat it. And even then it's rare because I usually don't have the stomach for anything beyond a shake and a piece of fruit. I am for more than 40-50 grams or so for that insulin spike that's useful at that time with a protein source

Are there better options? Absolutely

white rice isn't rat poison like a lot of folks seem to make it out to be, knowing WHEN to eat it is key. It's just not something cats need to be gorging on or eating regularly tho to your point.

brown rice sweet potatoes or quinoa

but keep in mind that it takes 600 g of sweet potatoes to equal the amount of carbs and calories in 175 g of brown rice...

quinoa or sweet potatoes are probably the best but quinoa is expensive and sweet potatoes are harder to prepare and you need more of them to get your proper carb macros...unless of course you combine brown rice and sweet potatoes to get the right macros...sweet potato fries are amazing by the way
