Revisiting Kendrick's verse on Control. Has there ever been another moment like that?

Overrated.
Impact came n went.....it was a thing bc he named names. Ok

Not bigger impact than

No Vaseline
Ether
Hit Em Up
Or 50 going at every NY rapper

Story of Adudon overrated as hell too. I'm not a Drake fan and I love how Push got at home but that shyt only made him fall back for a little bit....people act like it was some career ending thing. It made him look like a chump for a summer sure but dude didnt lose any popularity long term

All Kendrick did was challenge these rap nigguhs to step their shyt up. And instead of stepping it up, they got pissy and pouty and shyt. :russ:

Even the apparent Top Rapper was
full
at a MC calling erbody to the dance

These Devin Booker "Why we double teaming in a scrimmage?" ass nikkas

It was a dope verse. People in here calling it trash because they couldn't understand half the lines. :russ:

All I know is one of the top rappers back then didn't want anything with Kendrick. Even got offended that he would write a verse like that. :mjlol:

Break it down for me breh!

How to rob wasn’t that big outside of New York

That Kendrick shyt even had moms and females who don’t really listen to rap checking out the song

I'm in Florida and 70% of us never even heard How to Rob, and 50 was big down here. I didn't hear How to Rob until I got on the web and read an article about it years later.

The media/blogs really pushed this like it was a thing when it wasn't a big deal at all

Like 99% of Kendrick's career it wasn't an orgainic moment

K-Dot has a powerful machine behind him and this situation was a good example of that

You sound like a hater. Kendrick has had the opposite career arc of someone who has a powerful machine behind him. If it was just the machine he would've turned out like Chance the Rapper.

If anything his team has shown themselves to be completely incompetent, TDE rappers barely drop anything

verse was garbage and the reaction was embarrassing.
only good thing to come out of the Control shyt was that it made A$AP Mob go up to Hot97.

(Ferg throws some shots near the end of the second video)

I haven't heard the verse in a while but I fukked with the few bars Drake replied with on the remix to that Future song.

I don't know who Phil Jackson is, Ill look him up tho.

Eminem has created alot of bewildering moments in rap. Name dropping outright

Similar to Kendrick's control "moment" I find are
- Bridge is over
- Nas, Jay battle
- Cormega fukk Nas diss
- Tupac Biggie beef

There were crazier moments.

Modern times what Kendrick did on control was very significant tho.
not really

eminem orbits outside of rap as does majority of his fanbase... he's not in this conversation. y'all need to stop trying to shoe horn him in

he spent majority of his prime beefing with FEMALE POP SINGERS

:camby:

My bad. I misread it. I don't think there has been a moment since.

Other than Eminem's Tupac Puff reference on Killshot.
that wasn't a moment even remotely close...
