Yeah but the key is Frank staying healthy, we know his routine by now. Starts off strong and then gets nicked up throughout the season and loses steam.

But yeah splitting carries should keep him in beast mode longer.

People kept insisting Frank was washed up last year, despite the numbers showing otherwise....glad he proved them wrong again right from week 1. Dude still has it and the fact he has much less of a load to carry will keep him going for a while.

At the end of last year frank looked really slow

I don't know if slow is the word, worn down/tired is more like it.

He still played well in the playoffs, he just didn't have the stamina to carry the load at times he came out when he really should have been in.

Kendall is gonna have a huge game soon, I can feel it, could be tonight.

I won't say it's strategy per se, but what Alex was taught by Harbaugh and Roman. Like it was said previously, there are certain times where a sack is preferable to an INT. Especially last year when we were winning most our games by single digits and we were playing not to lose (albeit properly, not the Singletary method), true negative yardage sucks and it's never ideal but gift wrapping a possession to an offense like Green Bay, would bite us in the ass. I also think the strength of our Special Teams allows us to do this with minimal risk as well. I do expect a few more risks to be taken as the year progresses, it will be necessary, as I think teams will gameplan better for us this year. I also think the return of LaMichael James and Brandon Jacobs will allow us to get more tricky with the short to medium game. I'm excited to see what will be drawn up vs the Lions.

I thought I should we quote this because Chris Collinsworth inadvertently co-signed this post, talking about Harbaugh coaching Alex Smith. In terms of sacks vs INTs.

Great win last night. That last touchdown drive was a thing of beauty, especially Crabtree helping us convert are 3 straight third downs. I wish there was some way I could see that again....

I was raving about it to my friends last week, call me crazy but I love the fact that Alex takes sacks. Not the long variety like he did yesterday, but you can tell when he knows shyt isn't going well he tries to make it a 1 yard sack instead of throwing some trash up and getting picked or throwing it to no one and getting a grounding call.

He is mastering this offense, we're not even hitting our stride yet and you can see this is a dangerous offense.

Yea, I don't even think our offense has hit it's prime, but I like Alex Smiths growth, if he can keep this up, he'll have 25-30 TD and around 3500 yds. Also a healthy Gore and Crabtree :ahh:

Also, I like how we were able to keep Stafford uncomfortable and Megatron in check. Who has got it better than us right now?

Props 2 Kyle Williams on that onside kick recovery ...that last drive was a thing of beauty thats how a great team closes a game you can tell Alex is getting more comfortable in pressure situations

Yeah, I think our offense is still a work in progress. I like that they were actively trying to get Manningham into the flow of the game, too. Nobody saw that reverse coming. Sucks he dropped that wide open pass on that square end, but all in all, The Niners played well last night.
The defense was stout as usual. Kevin Smith finished with 53 yards rushing on the game. They held the lions to under 300 yards of total offense, which is amazing considering Stafford came in with however many consecutive 350+ yard games and also considering how we played last year (bend, don't break). This defense has a chance to be better than the one last year, and I don't think our turnover ratio will be anywhere near what it was last year.

Alex is starting to flourish under pressure, look back to 2011 and he has many moments where he thrives under pressure.

And boy did I love Kyle Williams for that onside recovery. There is a special place in my heart for that dude, I really hope he has some huge watershed moment if we get to the playoffs again.

You know what was crazy about that game, watching it it felt like Detroit was rushing the ball well against us.

Looking at the box score, 82 total rushing yards and 3.2 a carry.

We're so used to complete and utter dominance than 82 yards and 3.2 feels like a threat.

our turnover ratio will be anywhere near what it was last year.

Fangio said it before the season. it wont look the same on paper.

But this team definitely has a chance to be better than 2011 on defense, Aldon starting and a the chemistry is only getting better. I agree on the TO ratio, that was just insane last year, +28 is nuts, but we can still be the best in the league

Dashon GODson, I love that dude. You can tell the secondary is improved, Culli is starting to hit his stride, he played well yesterday and had a horrible call on him for PI

Yeah, that was a horrible, call...but they're replacement refs, so what are you gonna do?
We should've gotten 15 extra yards on that hit in the 4th quarter on Alex when he slid. That was just unbelievable.
