Hey I was thinking, I haven't had the chance to watch any college ball but I think out #1 priority this upcoming draft are Defensive Line and Safety assuming we can't come to a deal with Goldson. Any prospects? If not I'm going to look for guys we should go after, since I think this draft is deep with Nose Tackles, Ends and Elephants (Think Aldon Smith) we could develop.

For those of you concerned with the Seahawks...

Brandon Browner begins serving four-game suspension | ProFootballTalk

Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner will begin serving his four-game suspension immediately and will miss the remainder of 2012.

Browner, who violated the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy, will be out for the final four games of the regular season. He will be eligible to rejoin the Seahawks, who are currently in position to be the sixth and final NFC playoff team, at the start of the postseason.

The announcement that Browner’s suspension starts now comes as something of a surprise, as Browner was expected to continue appealing the four-game ban, which he says is for taking the prescription drug Adderall.

Seattle’s other starting cornerback, Richard Sherman, is also facing a four-game ban for what he says was taking Adderall. There’s been no official word from the NFL or the Seahawks about the status of Sherman’s appeal, although he is expected to play this week and have an appeal hearing next week.

The Seahawks also announced that they signed cornerback Ron Parker off the Panthers’ practice squad and promoted cornerback DeShawn Shead from their own practice squad to the 53-man roster. Walter Thurmond is expected to start at left cornerback while Browner is out.

Im 99% sure we wont be going for a nose or a dt in the first round. NT seems of a dying kind, plus if anything our D has shown that with these LBs and this scheme we dont really need a top flight NT at all.

I can see getting a DT in mid rounds. also a secondary player for sure. that's on D.

what we really need is a #1 playmaking WR in mold of aj green :noah: but we wont be drafting that high for a while methinks :noah:

No we don't have to go NT in the 1st round I agree, in fact I think the best ones for our purposes will be in rounds 3-6. I somewhat disagree about not needing a true Nose though, though we have a high speed defense but there are some BIG, athletic specimens that we can groom for our purposes. I think this helps us in the long run, because teams have beating us up running straight up out gut, I know Parys Haralson is out too and that hurts, but I think we need a little more beef up front, because I think RFJ is too small at this point and I'm not totally sold on Ian Williams or Will Tu.

dude, we are ran on not quite because of sop tho, even tho he is the weakest infividual player in that front 7.
in a 3-4, usually all 3 dlinemen are responsible for gaps and then LBs clean up whats left.

I attribute our decline in run defense to primarily decline in pass rush productivity. thus we have to involve justin more to pass rush than to watch the run, as well as our ILBs and slot CBs to blitz occasionally

but fact is, we take off the NT on passing downs anyway. theres no reason to draft a top flight NT for someone wholl be on field less than half snaps. remember when people thought abrayo leaving would expose us to run ? yea, didnt happen lol

Yep, wish we made a run at Mike Wallace, but even he really isn't a #1 , he's a HR hitter but he's no a consistant

AJ/Fitz/Calvin type of guy

I see what your saying but either way or another we need to upgrade in that area because I think Sop is good but not great, and I think its our only missing piece in the front 7 and I like this years draft class more than previous years, if they are available why not pick one and see how he does, we lose nothing by doing this and I want us to always stay improving, as good as our LB corps is, some size up front will help shore us against the run down the stretch, I agree I'm not saying we need to go nuts and get a DT in the first 2 rounds but it is a need I'd like to see addressed because we're aging rapidly as starters and I feel like the backups aren't really starting caliber , IMO, either way we are woefully thin at DL and this is the draft to fix it.

RT @PFF_Jeff Delanie Walker has 12 catches and dropped 7. > And 49ers No. 2 TE has played 60 snaps more than Manningham, the No. 2 WR.
