Pretty, this why I'm so confident we can make the Super Bowl, we can beat many of the potential competitors if it were one game, especially if we land a 1st round bye. We can do that better than most teams. We play solid, consistent, fundamental football at our our best.

I agree with that %100 breh. One game playing our best I dont think a team in the league can beat us.

Giants playoff game pissed me the fukk off because if Alex wasn't a p*ssy and tried to make plays, we probably would have won. How do you not even try to force the issue in a gotdamn playoff game? 1 pass to a WR is disgusting I don't care how bd they are....at least attempt to get them the ball. Kaep gives us that. He will throw more picks but defenses will have to cover the entire field and that will open up the running game.

The gunslinger will make mistakes but he'll leave it all out on the field.

Honestly alex playing as carefully as he did in some cases is just as bad as being a gunslinger. We would settle for 3 rather than go for 7. I think colin can make longer throws without the risk of a turnover but you're right, at least attempt the throws. That was my problem with alex. I was so pissed looking at receivers runnin wide open or taking unnecessary sacks. If colin could just make the throws alex would miss(especially deep throws) or even attempt them, then we're already better, and I can live with the risk.

I agree man...It pissed me off how much he held back the O despite being efficient and putting up pretty stats.

That's the thing that fukked us the most against the Giants this year. We had two really good opening drives and ended up with 2 FG attempts (one which Akers missed). After that it was all downhill.

Playcalling was fukking abysmal though. Roman at it's worst.

we'll have to agree to disagree. theres nothing wrong with conservative passing, and theres a lot of wrong with mindless gunslinging. especially with the team we have.

with that said, I dont think colin will gunsling it much. harbaugh won't let him or alex will be looming on the horizon. I certainly DONT want to see colin go for a bunch of 300 yard passing games for no reason tho.

I fully expect us to still play conservatively and *very* occasionally going for a big play

difference of course is colin CAN pass down the field and is far more accurate on intermediate and deep throws, unlike alex. again, because you CAN doesnt mean you should all the time. texans are a good model how to use play-action passes and exploit the mismatches in coverage.

Id venture to say harbaugh will keep him under wraps for most of the time unless were falling behind, ie giants/vikings games.

roman is a concern tho, he starts to get carried away with all the passing.

I don't think we're saying we want a mindless gunslinger. I personally would like a guy who can make all the throws and can make plays and get the ball to our playmakers. We haven't seen that in a decade.

I hope we are conservative... The only difference is we'll have a guy behind center who isn't a p*ssy.

There's conservative and there's p*ssy play...Alex was p*ssy-like in how he played IMO.

It's so weird because it comes out of nowhere. Gore and Hunter can be running for 4-5 yards per carry and all of a sudden Roman changes his mind and starts passing every single down. At first I thought he was always trying to establish the pass so the opponent D wouldn't stack the box but it just becomes :mindblown: why he would go away from something that is working.

That said, it's gonna be hard watching him leave after this season.

I mean, the creative playcalling he does is great but yea at some points he just gets in love with pass plays. you could tell he didnt like alex much lol

personally I think we'll be fine once he leaves. the core of the team is formed. oline is beasting. we prolly just need to find true #1 WR, maybe line depth and we're most likely set on o. just need a good ocoordinator who will play by harbs rules..

NINER EMPIRE
Looks like Akers has a Pelvic injury. Not sure what the Niners are gonna do in the meantime.

49ers notes: With Akers hurt, kickers get tryouts - 49ers - The Sacramento Bee

Coach Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday that David Akers is dealing with a pelvis injury and that the 49ers need a "Plan B" if he can't play Sunday at St. Louis.
That plan would be to sign either ex-Charger Nate Kaeding or ex-Raven Billy Cundiff to a short-term contract while Akers heals. Both visited Santa Clara on Tuesday and worked out for Harbaugh and special-teams coach Brad Seely.

Problem with the NFC champ game is that takeaway the 2 horrible turnovers on special teams and the Giants don't keep it close enough to win in OT by 3.

But those stats under duress :scusthov:
