honestly, that was wack as fukk.

much respect to osp for hanging in there but there's no good reason he should've lasted 5 rounds with bones. and that's an indictment on jon jones. he just coasted...dude put in as little effort as possible.

i think we were all expecting more of out of him.

What about em? Cain was suppose to rule the div but he can't stay healthy, JDS can beat everyone in the division but Cain what's your point
Going by what you said we shoulda counted out Cain after the first fight against JDS but he came back and wrecked sht

I'll admit I expected more.

He was extremely passive tonight, didn't even attempt a takedown until the 4th.

He definitely didn't look bad tho, just rusty.

If he was aggressive he could've finished this within two.

Meh fight :yeshrug:

What do you guys think this shows us for the Cormier fight from Jones? Anything new? Or we cant look TOO MUCH into it bc of him being rusty (but got it done obviously) tonight bc of the injury layoff?
(1) Jones is AHEAD of the competition by a wide margin...I have noticed that in EVERY fight, when Jones gets comfortable, he is able to just walk down his opponents, clinch them and set up elbows...He did that Gus too...

(2) There is something holding Jones back...Maybe he thinks too much...But I see him EASILY beating these dudes he just gets loose on them with his diverse striking...

(3) Jones is only losing via "lucky punch"...I don't see none of these dudes grinding him to a decision...

lol excatly who did Khabib fight again?

Even tho i thought cruz one the fight, it was pretty close. Cruz also started to getted word with leg kicks in the later rounds.

Khabib and Dominick Cruz were coming off 2 and 4 year layoffs, that's no excuse. Jones had a few opportunities to finish the fight and didn't.

I don't understand why everyone is so down. This was purely a tune up fight. Jones wasn't going to risk anything(and he never does) He still dominated the entire fight. His usual strikes still deadly. Still strong as fukk in the clinch/maintaining top control. Still looked the same to me.

Matter of fact I think Jones really took it easy on him. He really wasn't landing crazy elbows like he did against Shogun/Vera where he was trying to mash their face in. He had his elbow pressed on OSP's face while in side control. A quick brutal flurry would have ended it but he really didn't rain those hellbows. Same when he took him down in the 5th. He kind of just popped up off him. He probably likes OSP and already made a point without the need to completely smash him
