in the comments section of this vid, theres someone who mentioned how they bought this album the same day as above the law's joint.

I immediately thought of @the hillsta.

:myman: Too funnny

I hade both them tapes but didn't buy em the same day tho.

Just shows the variety of music cats was bumpin in them tape decks. Throw on rock dis and then some murder rap and keep the head noddin without missin a beat.

I did copp death certificate and we can't be stopped the same day. Them sh1ts was on the wall at musicland had me stuck in amazement starin at them covers in disbelief :dwillhuh:

Some great times bruh.

I've always supported conscious and political hip-hop. that's why I have an Onyx avatar and act like No Limit was the greatest label ever :troll:

spoken like a true herb who only listens to conscious and "conscious" hip-hop because he thinks it makes him look like a "real hip-hop head".

youre turning into a flea-poster.

1 more thing.

messages like this tend to fall on death ears.

too preachy. and nobody wants to feel like theyre being talked down to either.

to wise intellect's credit, he has tracks like the one that spawned this thread. that song is amongst the apex of conscious rap. poor righteous teachers were dope. not to preachy but youre still saying a lot and getting your point across. and people can jam to it. but somewhere along the lines, this method got lost and conscious rap became "conscious rap" for the most part and eventually ended up being nothing more than a selling tag for rappers who weren't cool.
