RIP DMX.

When i first heard his voice on a record... i already knew i was listening to something different, something special. I was only 10 years old when i first heard his music but i remember thinking... whoever is rapping right now is obvioiusly the hardest in the mf game... then the videos came out and it was like this guy is a motha fukken GOD.. what a force of nature

I dunno if i'll ever feel the same way about a track as i did the first time i heard get at me dog, ruff ryders and them where the hood at, slippin' or any of those unforgettale DMX tunes man.

i'm not gonna lie i'm. drunk as fukk, and as u can tell by my post count and how long i've been a member, i hardly ever post... but it would be disrespectful not to show the utmost love to DMX. We lost a real one today... may his sould get the rest it deserves. My life has been made better by just hearing X's music and i'm thankful for that.

"the snake, the rat, the cat, the dog, how you gon' see em if you livin' in the fog"

.. " stop. drop... SHUT EM DOWN OPEN UP SHOP" .

RIP .. thank you X.

"I Dont drink or do drugs, cause I'm afraid I'll find some Peace in it..."

:mjcry::to:
I busted out crying when she said that because that's so real. I feel the exact same way. When people would talk down on X for being in and out of jail and being on drugs and drinking, I used to get so angry because they had no idea what X went through. They could watch a documentary or an interview about it but they could never be able to fully see his life story up to that point and how he became the man he was. People judged him when they wouldn't last 30 minutes in his shoes. They wouldn't have even been able to cope with drugs

And despite all of his struggles, he touched people's spirits through his music and his actions. He changed lives. X was a man of the people. You're hearing all these good things about what he did for others because that's who he was. Roxanne touched on the sentiment "why people like us always want to help". It's because people go through so much shyt and still have the heart to be there for someone so they don't have to go through the same thing. They still go the extra mile to try to change someone else's life for the better or make their day better. That takes a strong person to do

I don't mean to type out a long dissertation but X was such a real, strong, honest, genuine soul. And no matter what he said, whether if it was from a song, a soundbite, a movie, an interview, a personal interaction, a freestyle, or a sermon, you FELT him. There will never be another DMX

This is how fake news spreads

Jesus Christ :snoop:

exactly. His catalog is tied up and not the kinda thing someone can just magically “buy” like it’s produce in the store.

For one, it’s not like the holders of the catalog would just say “here, I wanna sell this.”
